The “key takeaway” from Sondland’s testimony is he saw the writing on the wall and realized that Schiff is no Mueller. This is not the same game as the Russia one and Schiff is going to get the truth out of him. Schiff is going to get to the truth about all of this mess so Sondland could defend Trump with lies or himself with the truth.
Sondland did a material 180 in his “update”. He threw Trump under the bus and did so because he realized that no matter what he did Trump was going under that bus and his continued lying would put him there too. So he bailed on Trump to save his own ass. He’ll be out of public service in less than a month and I imagine he’s happy with that. Trump will never get another dime from him.

He’s still lying. He’s just changed his lies to versions that exculpate him in the main crimes while not being as easily disproved. He really has to hope Goodhair doesn’t rat him out – probably they have enough on each other to make a deal hold.
