Republicans will bitch that this resolution does not say “Impeachment proceedings are now Super Duper official and all previous depositions are dismissed”

There’s also nothing about disposing of all ‘fruit of the poisonous tree’ in the nearest garbage receptacle.

And there’s no requirement that the committees report that Donald J. Trump is the greatest president ever (with the biggest inaugural crowd), and that the Mueller investigation and the impeachment investigation were illegal, rigged Witch Hunts, and recommend that the Constitution be amended so he is made Supreme Unified Authoritarian Ruler for Life.

I mean, how unfair can this get?

The Repubs are no match whatsoever for the skillful strategy of Nancy Pelosi. So far she has navigated this whole process masterfully, even at the risk and frustration of many Dems.

So Schiff is point man on this. Fortunately, he has the broad shoulders to withstand Trump’s unscrupulous and sinister insults and incitements. He is the right man at the right time in our history. As is Pelosi.

Once republicans can subpoena witnesses, documents or testimony, I wonder just who can they request in defense of the president. The events aren’t really in dispute.

It would be interesting to compare this to the comparable resolution from the Clinton impeachment. It will mute (at least among the thinking) any GOP objections if it was done this way when the shoe was on the other foot.

Does it contain a Tlaib MoFo provision?

I like that Democrats allowed Republicans to seek testimony or documents, but with strict conditions. Sort of how you’d treat a teenager just starting to drive.

Yeah. If it’s a reasonable request it should get the blessing of the chairman, and worst case, by vote. But if it’s spurious, it’s not going to fly.

This gives the transparency, public forum, equal opportunity to present evidence, and authority that Republicans have said they want, while still limiting their ability as much as is fairly possible to conduct their intended shenanigans.

Nervous Nancy must have a death wish or something.

Well-played, Madam Speaker, Democratic leadership, and committee chairs. Time for everyone to be fully on board.

I think this was done in part to strengthen the House position on getting testimony from Haldeman and Erlichmann (Oops I mean Mulvaney and Bolton)

Republicans: AAAAAAH SECRET STAR CHAMBER WITCH HUNT, WE DEMAND TRANSPARENCY BARGARBGL

Nancy Pelosi: Okay, we’ll have public hearings.

Republicans: NO NOT LIKE THAT

Moving forward tRump, ready to step down yet? The Dems are playing by the books, something you wouldn’t have a clue about.
He won’t, I know it, just thought I’d ask.
