The Justice Department Inspector General’s office released its widely anticipated report on the origins of the Russia probe Monday. The report found, in part, that the opening of the investigation into members of President Trump 2016 campaign was proper and any political bias held by FBI employees did not influence the launch of the investigation.
I believe the entire report is compromised because somewhere an FBI agent voted for a Democrat once. Any reasonable person would come to the same conclusion.
Can’t wait to see what Barr’s inky tentacles smear across this report.
In related news, Trump henchman Barr literally attacks his own department’s report, lying that the Mueller report was “exculpatory” about Trump (when it said he committed many acts of obstruction), and falsely claims the investigation was started on flimsy grounds (which the evidence has shown to be well justified)
Looks like the IG chickened out. He was asked to find a plot against Trump: he found no trace of such a plot. That should be the headline, and the story for days–even Trump’s mob consigliere Barr couldn’t put a dent in the truth that Russia helped Trump get elected.
But that would have put him under the right-wing eye of Sauron. So he caved and highlighted some process errors on the FBI’s part. I’ll take odds that the “doctored email” is innocuous. It’s out there to provide Horowitz cover: “My report will please neither side.” What a load of crap.
The big question will be how the media handles it. Will this low-level lawyer be the focus of a thousand cover stories? If so, we’re dead. Or will it focus on the plain truth: Russia helped Trump in 2016, Trump welcomed it, he’s still welcoming it, and in fact collaborating with Russian in the Ukraine shenanigans.
Not happy with the outcome of a report you’ve been hyping for months? Expecting filet mignon and ended up with a nothingberder?

You’d think the same fate would have befallen Gordon Sondland by now. Trump famously bristles at betrayal, and deals with it swiftly, in harsh terms. I think there has to be a very, very interesting story behind the scenes as to why he still has his job.
