It’s not FBI agents who make unmasking requests. It’s the administration officials who receive the reports with the US person’s name redacted, and decided that they need to know who the person is in order to understand the significance of the report. If Joe Schmoe from East Butthole, Missouri is calling the Russian ambassador and suggesting no retaliation to Obama’s sanctions, it’s NBD. If it’s the incoming National Security Advisor, it’s a very big deal indeed.

I hope Democrats are ready to deal with this propaganda attack properly. Cold, clinical debunking isn’t enough for this kind of shitstorm.
Democratic leaders need to say “yes, we investigated Mike Flynn because he was hiding his work with a foreign government! He was breaking the law and that’s why the FBI was investigating him! That’s why he pled guilty and why President Trump fired him! The Republicans are engaged in full-throttle disinformation to protect a felon and this has got to stop!”

Ah, thanks for that link. That´s precisely why I didn´t like Lord of the Flies: the take-away seemed to be that without some authority to keep us straight, we´re savages. I always thought that authority was necessary to make us really turn savage (e.g., The Holocaust).
I never liked Hobbes, either. Leviathan was just another justification for an authoritarian leader.
