Ratcliffe Tries To Pull Off Another Pre-Debate Russia Doc Dump

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe again tried to declassify documents that cast doubt on Russia’s 2016 attempt to help President Donald Trump win the election just hours before a 2020 presidential debate, according to Reuters.

Could somebody please toss the Rat over a cliffe?

Too many vermin in the swamp.

Maybe nobody cares? Heck, Ratman can release all he wants and it won’t be believed nor make any voting difference.

Did the senate intel committee not actually reach a conclusion on this?

How prosecutable is all this shit with Ratcliff when after the election it’s found he was knowingly disseminating Russia disinfo?

So we aren’t really concerned about the news that Russia is interfering with the election. The really important news is from 2016. This is how the DNI spends his time? Does he have any idea how much this will damage his credibility, or has that ship sailed?

He could also be providing information to the Russians that will allow them to identify American agents.

Speculative, unsupported defenses of the Russians from Nunes and the other House Rs? I’d be more interested in whatever the Cow has to say.

Send him to the Everglades and let the pythons take care of the vermin.

Well after his confusing and lackluster performance yesterday, he’s not ready for prime time skulduggery that’s for sure.

At this point I think is too late to try to change anyone’s mind. The idiots scared everyone into early voting and now they can show me a video of Biden drowning puppies and it would not matter because we all already voted in my household.

Is he more corrupt or more inept? I have been less than fabulously impressed with our Hatch-shredding DNI.

We bon voyaged him months ago. Didn’t you get your invite?

Too late, Ratfink. I already voted. On 30 Sep.

Maybe he is doing it on purpose, Trump is demanding him to selectively release dirt, and he does it so late and so blatantly that nobody will be able to charge him with helping the Pestilent in any way.

The appearance of scandal is more important than actual content, as we know from the Clinton server escapades, and I am sure Trump will have no compunction about mischaracterizing the content of the document in the debate even if it is not released. The GOP plays by a different rulebook, one that they keep writing as they go along.

It’s seemingly not prosecutable beyond a Hatch Act violation. Corrupt Intent is hard to prove so the court system typically falls back on whether you had the lawful authority to do something rather than did you do it for legitimate purposes.

We will hear various versions of: “I was just following orders.”
A classic Get-Out-Of-Jail card…except when you are hung for a capital crime.
Law n’ Order is a bitch when justice happens.

U.S. intelligence community: the information would “damage national security assets and jeopardize sources and methods.”
