A new Rasmussen poll of the North Carolina Senate race gives Republican Sen. Richard Burr a nine-point lead over Democrat Elaine Marshall, who some polls have shown gaining ground on Burr. Rasmussen’s latest numbers show Burr leading 49%-40%.When Rasmussen last looked at the race on July 6, it found Burr up 15 points, 52%-37%. Other polling has shown things considerably closer. A July 25 SurveyUSA poll gave Burr only a three-point edge, and a July 31 PPP poll showed him up only two points.
