Someone has outfitted the Dems with brass balls and ovaries!!!

Oh, perhaps it was the mob that tried to kill them?

He’s not only a Republican but a Trump appointee. Doesn’t need much more explaining than that, does it?

That’s not sufficient proof of being a white supremacist. Were Nikki Haley, Ben Carson and Elaine Chao white supremacists? Yeah, he’s white and they’re not, but I’m going to need specific evidence of this to believe it.

Plus, you don’t need to be one to take it easy on these criminals. There are other (illegitimate of course) reasons to do so, like helping out the GOP of fear of reprisal. Corruption and incompetence take many forms.

Also, considering how deeply entrenched these people likely are, in law enforcement, the military and other national security agencies and really government in general, at the local, state and federal level, and how many allies they have across US society and in the GOP, we’re talking about a years if not decades-long effort to weed them out and neutralize the danger they pose to the US. Doing it clumsily, stupidly or too aggressively could backfire and lead to increased activity and recruitment by them. This is like going after the mob, and it has to be done right. One of Garland’s top priorities and Wray will do as told.

There’s an old biblical saying, ā€œSurely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any birdā€.

Millions of bird here.

Gotta move on em’ like China on a Uighur.

Easier to defund that way, I suppose.

I beg to differ on this question of specific evidence. White supremacism isn’t a matter of whether someone’s been captured on film wearing a white pointy hat. It’s a question of evaluating their actions and affiliations. If I vote R, accept a high profile R job, and Rs are promoting a whites-first, blacks-last agenda, well then I’m white supremacist. It’s not a question of what’s in a person’s heart. It’s a question of holding them accountable for what they do and what they stand for. Wray is akin to a Nazi who has been asked to inquire to Kristallnacht. I don’t need to footage of him personally vandalizing a synagogue to draw the relevant conclusions. The R designation is a swastika at this point.

Sorry, not buying it. Why hasn’t Biden fired him? Is he also a white supremacist?

Errr. a little refinement, if you please…

White Supremacy is good for GOP fund-raising. It’s not a bug it’s a feature.

Yes, it does.

Circular reasoning and full of shit. Talk about begging the question…

But mostly, just full of ignorant shit.

Unfortunately one of the main reasons why this country has gone backwards, and rightwards, over the last 25 years is the insistence of many liberals that Republicans are good guys who just happen to support extreme, white-nationalist politicians intent on disenfranchising and oppressing black voters, minorities, etc in order to give white Americans disproportionate political power. According to this theory, Republicans are presumptively good-hearted folks who have no desire to promote the interests of white people at the expense of others, and it’s a coincidence that pretty much everything their party does ends up having that effect. Systemic racism isn’t real, only personal racism is. If Chris Wray wants to be a Republican–that is, to support a party that for 25 years has been a world leader in rightwing, racist extremism–that doesn’t make him a white supremacist. It just makes him a good guy who mysteriously keeps the wrong company, year in, year out.
