Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger (R) on Sunday took aim at his challenger Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), who was endorsed by former President Trump after Raffensperger rebuffed his election fraud falsehoods, for boosting the Big Lie of a “stolen” election.
It ought to be constantly stressed that many of these congressional promulgators of the big lie won their own races using the same voting machines on the same ballot as Trump. Unless they really believe that the Italian lasers zapped Trumps vote and not theirs.
tfg is going to be spread pretty thin conjuring up his BS for all those challengers while he defends law ssuits and criminal charges, and deals with revelations coming out of the J6 hearings.
he’s never done a single piece of election reform legislation, then he certified his own race with the same machines, those same ballots — and yet for President Trump he said you couldn’t trust that,” Raffensperger said. “That is a double-minded person, and as a pastor, he should know better.”
I don’t like Raffensperger - he’s an advocate for voter suppression - but credit where credit is due. He’s showing strength by seizing the offense and putting Hice on the defensive. That bit about being a pastor was a nice twist of the knife, after calling him “double minded” - we all know what that means. If you’re going to beat Trump, this is how you do it.
And what I like about this is Democrats can sit back and see how well it works. If effective, use that same or similar strategy in a general election.
“So I’m going to run on integrity and I’m going to run on the truth. I don’t know what he is going to run on,” Raffensperger continued.
… … …
Well Brad, I suspect that rep. Hice will run on lies and bullshit to keep trump and trump’s fragile ego happy.
“The laws that we have in place, there have been concerns raised, that but no. The results will be the results. And those results will be certified,” Raffensperger said.
The Trump Era has placed us in the position of using those who are “less bad”. That takes a certain amount of schmoozing and “double-talk” on our part, something the GOP has had a Head Start on us for a while now.
Right now, the advantage I would like for us to press is post-adolescent thinking.
The GOP is going to have quite a bit of opposing viewpoints as we proceed into this year, with Pro-Trump versus Anti-Trump themes, sectors and segments.
Who the f*ck elected Sean Hannity?? I knew this was happening in real time, but am still outraged by it. This asshat was literally involved in policy discussions, then opining about it on national television with no disclosure of that.
“Could an election outcome in Georgia be manipulated if current GOP Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger loses his primary race?”
Never mind the primary race. If Raffensperger makes it to the general election, would he—as the current secretary of state—manipulate the result if he loses?
Raffensperger correctly points out that Hice claims that his win was fair but President Biden’s win and Skanky 's loss in that same election were not? I suppose you are entitled to your facts if you are filthy conservative excrement and confederate christian pastor from Georgia?
This is a good write-up, though we have known since the recording of the call was released that Mark Meadows was on it–he introduced people and spoke of a “spirit of compromise.” Just amazing.
Liz Cheney reminded us of his presence on the call.
