President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone on Sunday to discuss “matters of mutual interest,” including counterterrorism, CNN reported.

Putin wants those sanctions gone NOW. Trump is not coming through with his promises to Russia. He’s looking weak and all beat up by Pelosi. So what else did Donald offer instead to the Butcher? Poland?
This is an orchestrated event played to give Trump a boost amidst bad press. Putin is surely going to hand Trump some public relations gift. He’ll say it’s a reward for this terrorism tip, with both parties saying it demonstrates Trump’s ability to conduct productive diplomacy. And the gift itself, whether a spy release, an arms control concession, or maybe some lowering of the hostilities in Ukraine, will be played up as a major victory for Trump, and evidence of his genius.
Trump created an “owe me”, and Putin will oblige.

I have a slightly different take. While Putin knows he has to bolster up Trump during his impeachment debacle, he’s not happy at all with Donald’s performance to date. It’s actually been sort of embarrassing. True, Trump gave Vlad Northern Africa on a silver platter but his economy is still suffering. He wanted the sanctions gone.
I believe there is a re-evaluation going on inside the Kremlin concerning the entire Republican Party. It may be time to cut them loose and take on a whole new strategy? How much money do you throw at a bunch of idiots before deciding they aren’t up to the task? And Romney is waiting in the wings having known all along what you were up to and ready to get even?

Trump is the GOP nominee. I don’t think Putin desires whatever Dems might bring to the table in 2021. I take at face value Putin did not care for Hillary Clinton, and her prospective policy goals vis-a-vis Russia, in 2016. Dems will likely have similar aims going forward to those they held pre-Trump. They may be a more known quantity, which I suppose on some level is preferable to the erratic antics of Trump. But I think Putin may prefer dealing with useful idiots, as opposed to a new regime that will have as one of their paramount goals undoing all the damage Trump has wrought, part of which would be no more kowtowing to Putin.
He advanced his army in Syria on our Special Forces before they could evacuate after Donald gave Russia permission. Putin could have waited. He didn’t. Just another black mark by that dictator against our nation that needs to be avenged.
The sainted Conservative Movement and its Republican minions doesn’t care about our military or national security any longer. All they want is a theocracy.
If Our Dear Leader were an actual politician, he would have flown directly to New York to comfort those wounded in the anti-Semitic knife attack out of pure political calculus, i.e., “getting the Jewish vote” and to appear friendly to Israel.
