Thousands marched and protested this weekend in the southern states where Republicans are silencing Black voters — with some, including Louisiana and Alabama, throwing out legal votes to do so. South Carolina will press on with its special redistricting session — over the reluctance of its Senate majority leader and governor — and Alabama awaits a…

Three-Fifths Compromise, We Hardly Knew Ye…
Ah, back to the back-of-the-bus. What progress.
This wouldn’t be happening if those 7 million that voted for Biden had made an effort and voted for Harris.
For those that believe that their vote doesn’t count..well…here we are.
“There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Al Gore & GW Bush” = Alito & Roberts
“There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Hillary & Trump” = Gorsuch Kavanaugh & Coney Barret.
I hope y’all are happy !
“… the South as Red States Race to Eliminate Black Seats…”
So Roberts please explain to us again how the election of Obama proved we didn’t need the Voting Rights Act.
Actually when the Democrats get in power in Nov, they should reenact it but for the entire nation.
What is coming is a wave election which happens the off election after a change in the party in charge of the Whitehouse. It is as predictable as spring following the winter. Normally we would expect the Republicans to lose the house. This year is going to be worse than normal. Trump has proven to be a genuinely clueless President surrounded by stupid Yes Men. They haven’t handled anything well. They have involved us in a war of choice in Iran without any thought. The President and his men have dumped giant price increases on us with his poorly thought out tariffs. Worse of all is how his administration handled ICE deployment in Minneapolis. Watching ICE agents kill two very white citizens in cold blood left America fuming. This fall promises to be a title wave election made worse by a gerrymandering nightmare that is spreading across the southern states. The Democratic sweep could be massive.
One hopes you are right.
A citizen group filed a new lawsuit attempting to force Missouri’s Secretary of State to stop slow-walking his certification of a petition that would put the state’s 2025 gerrymander to a public vote.
This is what happens in what is probably a purple state that doesn’t have a functioning oppostion party. Shame on the Democrats.
“And the things that have been said that South Carolina would be limited to what they get from the federal government, that is unconstitutional,” he added.
Well, come on. It’s not as if South Carolina has any particular history with objecting to federal interference with states’ rights, after all.
Hang on, I’m being handed a note…
