Prosecutors have proposed Barbara Jones a former federal judge who screened records belonging to Michael Cohen to now oversee weighing which of the materials recently seized from onetime Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s home and office might be protected by attorney-client privilege.
Why do all these investigations take SO LONG??? I know they want to be thorough, but these case durations are ridiculous! WE NEED SOME PROSECUTIONS to get past this period in our history.
I think if there were such a thing as buffoon-client privilege the prosecutors might have a problem here but if the standard is whether Giuliani was doing actual legal work they’re in good shape. Being a lawyer is more than just showing up places and running your mouth.
Sometimes he would do his schtick in actual courtrooms and at least once the judge openly wondered if he even knew what he was talking about, and if he understood the meaning of particular legal terms. It just made you cringe that anyone would humiliate himself that way.
Every night the DOJ turns loose 1000 monkeys on 1000 keyboards. Then the next morning they check to see if there are any coherent indictments on the pile. That’s how it works.
