A prominent Wisconsin Republican delivered a stinging rebuke of the legislature’s “investigation” into the 2020 presidential election results Monday, saying her party should move on from bogus claims of voter fraud for its own good, and for the good of the country.
Well spoken, Ma’am, but stay away from windows on upper floors.
Are we starting to hear some tiny rumblings and to see some infinitesimal cracks in the GQP façade?
Too little, too late.
The steady trickle is just background noise. Will she be leaving the Republican party because it is hurting the country? No. Will she be voting for Democrats? No. Will she be campaigning against Republicans who advance this insanity? Doubtful.
In other words will she actually DO anything to stop this? I think we all know.
This is just noise. I laud her for doing it, but the days when milqetoast condemnations could work ended six years ago… if not decades earlier.
We are, but destruction is so much easier, profitable and more fun.

One by one…slowly but surely…they’re coming out to defend our election systems and our democracy, to their credit, and to the detriment of those who would destroy it.
We must applaud them, if only for that.
The question is:
Is Ms Bernier merely positioning herself to run for Governor or some other office as a less crazy Republican, one like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger who are fine with all the other lies, obstruction and crimes of Republicans but draw the line at insurrection, so that when the smoke clears she will have distinguished herself from the worst or is she actually better, albeit not by much, then the worst?
Must be a new fad.

I think we’ll continue to see a steady trickle of folks who reach their breaking point over the next 2-4 years. They are the people who had convinced themselves that they just needed to keep their heads down until Trump was out of office and everything would go back to the way it was. They are now realizing that that isn’t going to happen, and the few with principles will abandon the party.
I don’t expect there will be enough, or that their conviction will be sufficient, to change much of anything.
She will back down as soon as the death threats start filling her voicemail.
So much for this brave lady’s political career. I hope she has some sort of security to protect her and her family. Generally in politics speaking truth leads to a short career. But in this charged atmosphere stupidity leads and there are nut jobs galore.
Honor and fidelity?!? Did no one tell him about the GOP before they gave him the gig?

Now that the dedicated golfer, executive tv watcher and damn fool is out of power the GOP could use some leadership. I don’t know if it they are ready to listen to a lady, but she sounds sincere.
I sure hope so.

There is just no foundation for anything they believe, other than baseless hyperbole, composed in quaint little soundbites that only a 3-year-old can understand.
