Project 2025 Would Like Its Cabinet Now

Hello it’s the weekend. This is The Weekender :coffee: It’s odd that the hush money case made it as far as it did. Alvin Bragg always seemed mercurial in his willingness to pursue it; the facts of the case all dealt with conduct around the 2016 election and the ensuing first months of Trump’s presidency.…

My take on this:

  • the convicted felon is in this to avoid prison, seek revenge, and grift, probably in that order
  • the project 2025 pukes are hangers-on, and will probably secure some toeholds here and there in the administration, but fatso is just not that into them, as he is too busy with revenging and grifting, and seeing himself on the teevee

Frist ? Hard to take much pleasure from such things these days. Not only is the Heritage Foundation trying to kill off democracy in America but my beautiful cat One Eyed Lucky was killed by a vicious dog last week.So salutations and good by to two wonderful things. As to “cement his legacy as the president who confronted Washington’s unaccountable bureaucracy and restored power to the people.”, sure, but it’s power to the wrong people. So bye bye American democracy and sleep well Lucky…

And yet, the so-called liberal media (SCLM) ate it up with a big ol’ spoon and asked for seconds. :face_vomiting::money_mouth_face::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Trump’s efforts to distance himself from Project 2025 were always questionable. The effort was stacked with his allies and former officials from his first administration. His appointments have made the connection even more clear. And Heritage’s statement about their effort to hasten confirmation of the Trump Cabinet put a bow around the whole thing.

Trump names billionaire Scott Bessent as Treasury secretary pick | CNN Politics
Bessent, 62, advised Trump on economic policy on the campaign trail and is the founder of hedge fund Key Square Capital Management. Before that, he was the chief investment officer at Soros Fund Management, a hedge fund started by Democratic megadonor George Soros. He gained prominence at the firm for leading efforts to bet against the British pound and Japanese yen that netted the firm billions of dollars in profits.
Wonder if the GOP will care?
Bessent would be the first out gay Treasury secretary, as well as the first LGBTQ Senate-confirmed Cabinet member in a Republican administration, according to The Associated Press. In 2021, Biden administration Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg became the first out gay Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate.

I did file charges but they will go nowhere. I immigrated to Punta Gorda Belize this year specifically to escape tRump. There are essentially no animal control laws here, the police said they would go by and " talk with the dog’s owner ". This is the owner who told me that his dog was trained to kill anything that came within it’s area as he handed me my headless cat’s body thru a fence. Lucky was a rescue cat that I brought with me from Texas along with another, Nosey the Curious Cat. Nosey is now restricted to indoors only. This is sweet little Nosey…

I think I know the answer, but which is less palatable to Trumpists: having a Russian asset as DNI, or having a Soros sleeper agent (and a gay one at that) as head of Treasury?

Thank you ! For the most part Belize is wonderful. The Mayan Temples are just amazing and for the most part still being excavated. It helps to keep things such as dynasties in perspective. And the Central American Mayans did not die off, they were still living at the ancient sites until around a 100 years ago when forced by colonial governments to relocate. Punta Gorda has a high percentage of Mayans, many of whom will be down in the open market today in traditional clothes. You see the faces carved into the temples and then see the same faces around you. It’s eerie but the Mayans are quiet survivors, something to take notice of

I’m still trying after all these years to wrap my head around the thing called The Heritage Foundation. A Foundation that promotes it’s self as:

Every day, The Heritage Foundation is building an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.

This Org wraps its self in purty language, but their policies are crafted to create a “fall in line with our values”. And I know why Trump doesn’t acknowledge that this group playbook, and that sometimes he doesn’t follow their script-it’s because DonOLD wants to world to finally realize that he “smart”.

So far my favorite Mayan site is Xunantunich, right at the Guatemala border near San Ignacio BE. The main temple there is still the 2nd highest structure in Belize with the highest being a temple at Caracol just a few miles away. And these sites aren’t really commercialized, you can go out on your own, explore and climb the structures. And as quiet as the ages…

“We’re seeing played out at this point another episode of ‘Count Until Somebody You Want to Win Wins,’” said Berger.

Pharmaceutically pure projection.
