Good wins – at all levels.
Now it’s time to make those wins work for regular people.
And then on to the next election.
Thank you TPM for a front page article highlighting the facts of the progressive agenda and how popular it actually is. I have waited a very long time for this. Here’s to many more!
This flies in the face of recent traditional Democratic attacks on the Democratic Left. There is a concerted effort to preserve the centrist-corporate friendly zone of comfort, a democrate/republican dance around the Maypole guaranteeing a continuing status quo. This most often some form of “return to normal”. Normal is what got us here. Do. Not. Return.
We now have a generational opportunity and a moral obligation, to rebuild with equity, compassion, and vision. Move forward, leave the dark ages behind.
Could not agree more. Centrist Dems conspicuously began blaming “Defund the Police” for their defeats almost immediately. I’m getting older every cycle, and I’m not patient enough to wait for what establishment Dems consider to be “the right time” for pressing these issues. I also have no patience with Dems who adopt Trump’s definition of “Defund the Police,” instead of slapping back with the real meaning at reporters who use it against them.
The silence in here is deafening.
Over the course of the last five or six years, I have started threads in the Hive on topics just like these. And every single one of those threads, every single one, was swarmed, and in most cases derailed completely, by a well-known group of anti-progressives in these forums. I have had dozens of my posts deleted for supposedly violating forum rules, when in actuality all I had done was post links or videos which provided undeniable proof of my statements.
But here we are at least 8 hours after this thread was began, and so far not a single derogatory comment. No supportive comments either from that usual group, which is kind of odd considering they are constantly saying how truly progressive they are. But the absence of derogatory comments by this group is quite obvious by it’s omission.
The only difference being, is that this time the conversation was started on TPM’s front page, instead of back here in the Hive by one of us so-called ‘Bernie Bros’.
Funny how that works.
In every state where a ballot measure asked Americans to reconsider the drug war, voters sided with reformers.
This was extremely heartening, the whole article was. I’d really like to see it promoted a lot more–if you have a facebook or twitter account, SHARE. After the nonsense we heard about “Dems just want to get free stuff,” the issues here show the true dem heart.
Yeah, funny. The same kind of thing happens at DKos. There are most definitely a large number on anti-progressives working the internet in stealth mode. Call it a fifth column, perhaps? I’d say that was paranoid, but the rapidity, volume and on-pointedness of the response to progressive postings is too consistent to ignore.
This makes me think of how the Lincoln Project - led by those who assisted GWBush in his campaign of mass murder - are now advising and leading the Democratic Party.
