Maybe in our modern pandemic era (because this won’t be the last), it’s time to rethink prisons in general, or at least who and how many get sent to them.
The fact that prisons are big business will of course make this harder as the Holy Job Creators that run these businesses will be as stupid an greedy as the Holy Job Creators that run all of the other businesses and will also have rallied a bunch of stupid and greedy politicians to their cause.
I’m sure all the Trump-enabled for-profit prisons are going above and beyond to take outstanding care of their staff and clients.
