Primaries Move Forward In At Least Three Of Four States Tuesday Despite COVID-19 | Talking Points Memo

In-person voting is set to occur mostly as usual tomorrow in all but one of the four Democratic presidential primary states scheduled to hold its nominating contest — despite public health officials who warn gathering at polling places poses a risk of spreading COVID-19.

Hopefully this will provide the encouragement for a national Vote By Mail campaign.

This is insanity. I am no lover of Biden, but as a scientist formerly involved in infectious diseases, I thought he hit it out of the park last night with:

“We are at war with a virus,” Biden said, and the American people are “looking for results, not a revolution. They’re looking for results they need right now.”

That is the presidential platform we need today (needed it 2 months ago).

Postpone the damn primaries for 2 months.
Enact Vote by Mail in all states.
Sheesh.

… although for primaries, we’ve already seen how problematic that can be when you vote early by mail and your candidate drops out.

Klobuchar and Wyden agree on the vote by mail idea:

The head of the Texas Democrats sent me an email. We’re trying to get them to switch it over to mail in. I don’t see why that would be a problem since we already have a certain percentage of mail-in ballots.

The GOP fears mail in ballots. More votes are bad for them otherwise they wouldn’t be working so hard to keep people from voting. They won’t even let voter passed changes take place. They are shameless.

Should be a good day for Biden, no? Anyone see any recent polling from those states?

Not the first time the Pubbies have ignored well documented warnings from the previous administration. They have a habit of doing this:

“Bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S.”

Let’s get through tomorrows primaries, to reinforce the insurmountable Biden lead, and delay the remainder.

From what I’ve seen over the past 5 decades, not sure that this was any worse.

And all I really want to do is go to the pub, tip a few pints with friends, and be louder than the table of people next to us.

Is that so much to ask?

(I’ll vote for your dog or cat if they are a Democrat.)

Yes - Nate Silver’s 538 site has a good synopsis. In general Biden is polling at 55 to 70% depending on the state and Bernie is at his ceiling, which is about 30-35% across the board. Biden will gain about 200 delegates more than Sanders tomorrow nite, putting the Dem. Nomination pretty much out of reach for Bernie.
