I find it stupefying that we are 14+ months out from January 6th and obviously guilty people are still ignoring subpoenas, lying without consequence and continuing to try and work the coup.
The one huge consequence of the Trump administration, for me personally, is the complete eradication of my faith in the ability of our government to self-correct.

I honestly don’t get the cult of all this. It’s not just Trump. He’s just one face of it. It goes much deeper, to this previously mostly submerged rage felt by a broad swath of Paranoid-Americans who feel somehow left out and behind and maligned, on a racial, ethnic, religious, political and ideological basis, based on a misplaced but clearly deeply felt sense of entitlement based on such things, that the emergence of Trump as a political leader on the right brought to the fore–again. It’s the JBS society all over again, in a new and more virulent form. Racist white Xtian people, basically, who can’t handle being asked to share the rights and privileges of being an American with others.

Also, the coup, which is precisely what it was, is turning out to be way way way bigger than the spontaneous attempt by a bunch of armed losers to “take back” the election, going to the highest levels of government and constituting a massive and ominous conspiracy to literally destroy the fundamental mechanism of out democracy, elections. Properly investigating this is no small undertaking to say the least, nor would investigators want to tip their hands in any way that could help the people they’re investigating evade justice, which would include even letting them know they’re being investigated and how seriously.

Unclear? You kidding me? Chances are it was Meadows, the chief of staff, at the direction of TFG. Either that, or Navarro stepping out of his lane again. But of course, there will be no record of Trump’s involvement in this; it was all done with a wink and a nod.

OT: Of course the orange embarrassment is lying about his crowd size…again. Saw interview with female attendee who made note of being made fun of for supporting TFG. Sounds like the majority is starting to get our points across, the dim bulbs are getting the message.
