PPE For Medical Workers Treating Coronavirus Begins To Run Low Again | Talking Points Memo

The personal protective gear that was in dangerously short supply during the early weeks of the coronavirus crisis in the U.S. is running low again as the virus resumes its rapid spread and the number of hospitalized patients climbs.

Oh, hey, just another hoax. Everybody knows this is all under control, we’re winning the battle, we only have more cases because we’re testing, the virus will be disappearing any day now, 99.9% of infections are harmless…

Did I miss anything? :smirk:

PPEs running out! Who could have predicted that?
Yeah, pretty much everybody.

One of the many things the trump regime is really bad at: thinking about lead times.

Have they appealed to the national stockpile, aka Kushner Enterprises?

If only someone could have seen this coming and taken steps to protect our PPE supply lines!

The president is busy protecting statues of traitorous Confederate generals and their names on U.S. military bases. To say nothing of the time he needs to stoke racist and cultural divisions in the country before the election.

He doesn’t have time for this petty shit - stop whining.

“We’re five months into this and there are still shortages of gowns, hair covers, shoe covers, masks, N95 masks,” said Deborah Burger, president of National Nurses United, who cited results from a survey of the union’s members.

Statues. The radical left wants to tear down all the statues and melt them into face masks…

Not so, the timing of bankruptcy filings requires plenty of lead time planning. And Fat Nixon has plenty of experience in filing bankruptcies.

This is how supply and demand works under capitalism. Use your control of the means of production to create an artificial shortage, and you increase your profit margin. Yes, you could make enough masks to fully meet demand, and you would sell more units, but you could only sell them at cost plus some contemptibly small margin. You always maximize your profits at some midway point that falls far short of meeting demand fully.

Silly humans. You tolerated this system when it was a matter of crap luxuries it produced and sold. You didn’t understand that this system that you let control society doesn’t care about the difference between crap luxuries and stuff you humans need to survive. Maybe you will learn something now that the bill is coming due on this bargain you made with the demon Capital.

Apparently supply has surpassed demand for hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, some types of masks and gloves. Those are plentiful in the stores in the Houston area. Disinfectant wipes and spray have disappeared again.

These medical people say mean things, and true things, about Trump so they will have to get their PPE on their own.
We can not have people tell the truth and expect Republicans to back them.

If only Trump had used the DPA. We might be moving toward self sufficiency – not to mention creating some jobs, actually doing it, not blowing smoke about job creators.

You’d think there are some charges that could be brought based on negligence or dereliction of duty that results in harm to the public.
