No, it’s:
It’s remarkable, sometimes, what you can see when you lift up a rock.
Look, there’s Congressman Mo Brooks!
Mo wants to be in the Senate so that the next time a mob tries to destroy it, he can open the door from the inside.
Very true. I guess what continues to surprise me at least is that while I’ve come across some very transactional folks in my life, I’ve never witnessed anyone who was purely transactional. I feel like a person could spend 30 years never running afoul of the man, never NOT doing exactly what he wants, but if he asks you to get to Mar-A-Lago in an hour and you’re in Louisville, you become his mortal enemy when you can’t make it. Never mind that the task is impossible and insane or that you did everything you could to make it happen, none of that matters. Nothing you did for him over the past 30 years matters either. All you will ever be is the asshole who refused him.
Gee, I wonder if a public statement by a GOP House Rep, and Trump supporter (!!) that Trump repeatedly asked him to commit statutory crimes that were also in violation of the constitution might move the needle a bit on the Jan 6 investigation?
Might there be a wee bit of criminality involved in the President asking members of Congress to help him overthrow the election, after he’s been told by said members that what he’s asking is against the law?
Didn’t Brooks vote against impeachment?
After teeing himself up to be a J6 committee witness, Mo could give master classes in groveling.
He did indeedy. And IANAL but he seems to just have implicated Trump in crimes.
Well, maybe Brooks has the goods:

Dude, you’re groveling. You might win more votes if you, I don’t know, act like a fucking man.
Just ask Donnie junior, the Kendall Roy we’re stuck with.
But, “I took a sworn oath to defend and protect the U.S. Constitution,” Brooks said. “I honor my oath. That is the way I am. I break my sworn oath for no man.”
Satan is sitting on his throne laughing.
and yet they crawl back to him time and again after the kicking - these men are supposed to be our leaders
The mystifying thing to me is that they all cower and run around for a person with no charisma, charm, smarts, wisdom, warmth, or any redeeming quality that could account for the willingness of some to be his dupes.
Essentially same info - different news outlet
If Brooks has solid documentation - pretty much proves that Trump is an insane criminal … but we all knew that.
Mo Brooks was faring poorly in the election pools. Alabama Daily News reported that he was running third and “far behind” in Alabama Republican Senate primary race.
Trump’s influence is slowly diminishing in the Republican party. He has no political office to command power. He’s made enemies with party’s strategic leader (McConnell). His ability to communicate to his following via social media has been severely crippled by the Twitter/Facebook bans. Other Republican leaders have staked out Trumpian positions to woo his voting base. He is poorly positioned on the Russia/Ukraine war on a position that has heavy bipartisan agreement.
If Mo Brooks were to badly lose a heavily blue state Senate primary while carrying Trump’s endorsement, it might expose Trump’s political impotence.
Could Trump’s motivation for un-endorsing Brook’s be more about avoiding the bad optics of a likely Brooks election loss and less about loyalty?
Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 20,000 rubles.
Mo (he ought to be called Less) is obviously a craven coward. However, he makes a good pair with the Orange Asshole who is also a coward, and a draft dodger. Mo should just go to Palm Beach and give the Little Yellow Toadstool a blow job in the middle of Worth Avenue, and all will be forgiven!
Mo, honey, you’ve learned an important message, as many have before you: everything Trump touches dies.
