LOS ANGELES (AP) — Adult film star Ron Jeremy was charged with raping three women and sexually assaulting a fourth, Los Angeles County prosecutors said Tuesday.
The incumbent DA is locked in a tight race for re-election which is probably why she finally moved on these charges.
Every year the Queens Tribune would do a special issue of famous people from Queens. Ron Jeremy formally known as Ron Hyatt would be on the list with an attendant profile. Kind of cringeworthy but he is famous. Wait for a Trump tweet “Very unfair!, “Great guy!” “The prosecutor is part of the deep state” “California!”
Maybe famous people from Queens should start cleaning up their acts. Just saying.

I’m generally not inclined to criticize TPM’s editorial decisions, but as we are facing a raging, near-out-of-control pandemic, an economic crisis that may presage a second Great Depression, and the existential threat of a criminal Executive branch that threatens the very foundations of democracy, can someone tell me why this merits coverage?

In hindsight, I agree with you on that. He is a name built on a specific industry and talent(questionable) with little to do with current events. I did half expect an Epstein or Trump reference but no.

For fuck’s sake [a rare case in which that phrase applies], he could have just said “Hi, I’m Ron Jeremy” and gotten voluntarily laid in ten minutes. Why in the world would he rape women aged 30, 33, and 46? Whether it was a strip club or a singles bar or just a quiet little beer hall, this makes no sense, unless he was so drugged he was out of his mind, on multiple occasions. In the old days, he was said to be nicer to the female talent than most male porn stars of the era treated them.
But people lose their senses and souls for all kinds of reason, and fame seems to encourage it.
This has been raised for any number of famous men accused of rape. The answer is that rape isn’t about sex. It’s about power.
I guess it was an “open secret” he was a serial rapist (i didn’t know but Hollywood did).
