I have yet to see a postal worker in our Philly neighborhood wearing a mask (although I did see one with a mask around his neck).

I had a bit of unpleasantness where a maskless postman knocked on my door. I opened to find him talking to one of my always maskless neighbors, so I closed the door to wait for them to be done. My neighbor (heard through the door): “Can you believe this? He’s just doing trying to do his job.” I’m so fucking sick of people.

Normally, I would write this off as bad management but it is more likely being done on purpose to disrupt the mailing of ballots.

Ours here in Wisconsin are in trucks, so the person to person contact is minimal. All our mailboxes are streetside.

It sounds like the USPS should hire some people from Amazon to help with PPE, sanitation procedures, etc. Maybe Bezos would loan them out. He can spare them.

It’s a similar business, stuff in, stuff out, with people in warehouses.

Can the USPS give higher priority to ballots than ordinary mail such as cheaper commercial catalogues or ‘throwaway’ mailers - sent out by the millions?

Mailpeople here in my Richmond neighborhood are usually on their phones so they aren’t wearing masks for the most part. Meanwhile, cases are skyrocketing in Europe. I’m figuring by December, we’ll be back in the tens of thousands each day. Fucking imbeciles here. They get what they deserve.

Except the pay and benefits are better, The USPS actually has a pension and disability coverage. Then there’s the APWU, that’s their union. Amazon would never allow a union.Amazon warehouse employees are essentially human robots that have to keep up the pace… or they’re gone.

My own postal carrier is a wingnut who is always listening to talk radio. He never wears a mask, downplays the virus, etc. He’s also kind of overweight and generally looks unhealthy. I really think he’s gonna contract the virus and go down hard.

It’s One More Threat to Voting by Mail.

Given the stance of the maladministration, this is a Feature…not a Bug.

This is desired by those in power
Who wish to remain in power
By the theft of power
Through the destruction of democracy.

As we work to Get.Out.The.Vote., they do their damnedest to Fuck.The.Vote.
Despicable, Amoral, Anti-Ethical, Anti-Democracy, Anti-Constitutional.
Criminal.

Most of Postal Management sucked before Trump.
Under Trump they are able to suck more.

There is a union for the clerks, city letter carriers, rural delivery carriers, mailhandlers, motor vehicles and a few more.

Postal management showed the world how little they cared about the workers with the anthrax and their refusal to remove them from the danger.

Yeah, but if we had a serious federal response, the important role of mail during the necessary public health measurements would have been prioritized and the safety of postal workers would have been considered. This is the result of having a political party in power and in particular a president who do not give a shit about the workers in the meat and chicken processing plants who feed the population because they are predominantly a minority work force. Ditto for the post office workers. This is yet one more result of a President who does not care about real policy and does not read and has zero attention span for anything that is not to his immediate benefit.
