That’s the point I was trying to make.
Of course this is also the dude who passed me on a double yellow line, uphill, doing 60 in a 35mph zone. He’s clearly not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
Of all the immigrants in my town (33% Hispanic, Ukrainian, Kenyan, and a wide sprinkling of others) those from Appalachia have had the most problems with the law and in the schools.

I actually find that plausible. Is that what I think happened here? No. But I have seen innocent motives lead this way before, so at this point I still have an open mind.

Seems like both those statements by Byrd can’t be true. I’m guessing she spoke to the secretary before speaking to investigators, in which the second is a lie.

If their judgement and susceptibility to peer pressure are so shaky, it is not clear to me that ANY of them are suitable for police work.
