Despite his protestations, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is headed to Kansas for the third time this year, possibly readying a Senatorial parachute should the Ukrainian scandal get worse for him.
Of course by June, Pompeo may be as distasteful as Kobach in Kansas, especially after those ādead airā TV interview moments ā¦ Homina Homina Homina
I think he should just do it. That way when the new administration throws the fat fār in the slammer, get kicked out of the Senate and the Governor can put a Dem in his place. Works for me.
What a win-win as it also meets the residency requirement! It might be difficult for Pompeo to make the Senate votes, but at least he can watch the proceedings on C-Span.
I was really hoping Sebelius would enter the race, but sheās just endorsed State Senator Barbara Bollier for the US Senate race. BB will be a very formidable candidate, and if i was a Republican (and thank the heavens iām not!), iād be worried, too. The Kansas GOP has no viable candidates. Period. Kobach??? Are you serious? Heās a failure to his own cause. And Pompeo??? Reference Kobach. Both of these guys are in bed with the Dotard, and in Kansas, believe it or not, that will be a bigger problem for rank and file Republicans than people realize. Kansas is red, yes, but not at all costs. The State does have a long history of electing Dems for Governor. Kobach and Pompeo could be looking at a game-ending humiliation next year.
I agree. With the way Kansas has been trending lately and with Pompeoās deer in the headlights freeze-up when faced with difficult questions, this is no sure thing for him.
I look forward to his opponentās commercials featuring his deer in the headlights pauses when faced with questions he canāt answer about his And his bossās abuses of power.
Bollier, who launched her campaign to replace retiring Republican Sen. Pat Roberts last week, was elected to the Kansas Legislature in 2010 as a Republican. Late last year, she announced she was switching parties to become a Democrat, citing āRepublican leadersā hardline rhetoricā as a reason for her decision.
