Police Captain Who Said GA Shooting Suspect Had ‘Bad Day’ Peddled Racist Anti-China Shirts Online

Moderna #2 was much worse than #1.
But worth it.

Nearly a century ago, H.L. Mencken wrote that when a devout Christian goes bad, he REALLY goes bad because of that substrate of moral absolutism in his childishly immature brain:

I had crappy, lingering reaction to first moderna dose, so I definitely sympathize. Hang in there.

“I have to hold the line here, or else the damned Dems will want to start prosecuting Georgians for racist murders!”

For a lot of white male boomers, Falling Down is a heroic elegy, an index for rationalizing horrific violence as validation that white men are regularly victimized by the culture around them.

I don’t know about the shooter, but I wager Capt. Baker is a Falling Down enthusiast.

My mom got Moderna and said she felt awful after the 2nd. I’m getting Pfizer and other than a sore arm for a few days the 1st wasn’t so bad.

Oh well then. Do try to avoid police officers who may be having a bad day.

As with literally ALL religions, the vast majority of “believers” are far more about rites, rituals and superficial practices, and calling themselves “believers”, than they are about genuinely subscribing to and following the actual tenets and beliefs of their alleged faith. Hey, I believe in god and go to church/temple/mosque, so I’m good, and it cancels out all that other stuff I do.

Um, no, not even close.

The question I ask is if it’s possible to be a good, decent, happy person without god or religious faith. And, obviously, it is. Therefore, god isn’t necessary. Therefore, god doesn’t exist, since for his existence to be real would require that this not be possible, and since it is possible, he can’t exist, at least not in the form that religions cast him in.

Put another way, do people seriously, actually believe that in a universe as vast and old as it is, “god” chose to focus on a single group of people on a single planet, and waited over 4 billion years for them to be able to hear him (and it’s always MY people not yours)? Or do they reject modern cosmology and biology? There is no third option.

It’s all so…silly, and pointless.

And to those who say “But I can just FEEL that he’s real, and my faith has carried me through many a tough time”, I don’t doubt that this is true, but that’s no proof. To me, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are real, at least they feel real, or else I wouldn’t have more than a passing interest in Star Wars. But they’re real in that they FEEL real, even though I know they aren’t. And they feel real because something about them relates to what is or appears to actually be real, goodness and evil. They’re not real, but they’re symbolic archetypes of that which is real. Same with “god”, I suspect, who probably represents life having meaning and purpose and the need to be a good person and have strength to those who actually believe in him.

My wife was washed out for a day after Moderna 2, fine after that. My experience with Pfizer 2 was slightly less washed out.

For me, there was no comparison with Pfizer one and two. The first was just the arm. I was kind of shocked by my reaction to the 2nd one, hardly got out of bed, not eating, terrible headache, couldn’t sleep at night then finally slept a lot of yesterday.

Then I guess that means that it’s working. I get my 2nd just before the last Passover Seder. Should be fun.

I kinda find it difficult to believe a white police officer in the United States actually harbors race based animus.

The SO, an RN who has gone back to work to put vaccine in arms, got her second dose and had symptoms much like you described above. She said, “my body is reacting so it’s working!”

Did this moron think no one would find this out?

Why do people with public facing jobs even have a Facebook account?

This is GA, people. If this doesn’t get him reelected, nothing will.

I wonder how much he made from the shirts vs his salary. I’m guessing the loss of the latter will hurt.

I don’t think Captains in the Sheriff’s Dept are elected.

If it of any consolation to you, the strong reaction to the vaccine is a sign that your are being truly immunized. I wish I could send you some good, homemade chicken soup to sweat it all out. You will feell better soon.

Not sure about his future but, as for Georgia, I think it’s worth recalling that the state just elected Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.
