As President Trump prepares for an event in Phoenix, Arizona, amid a score of trips to launch his campaign for reelection, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego urged him to wear a mask before taking the podium in her city.
“Everyone attending tomorrow’s event, particularly any elected official, should set an example to residents by wearing a mask,” Mayor Kate Gallego wrote in a statement on Tuesday. “This includes the President.”
Phoenix can now completely forget about being paid for the costs of this campaign event.
I’m fine with him walking into this event with no PPE. Why should he be any different than the folks he subjected to exposure because he wouldn’t release the equipment to the States that didn’t treat him right?
Nice closed environment of a church, Covid-19 in attendance, bouncing around in the air when the shouting starts. Oh, look! Covid floating to the podium as Trump takes the stage . . . Sad.
There is some probability, albeit small, that Trump could spend part of the campaign season in an ICU bed on oxygen. One of the weirdest effects of COVID-19 is that it can turn your mind to mush, making it impossible to focus, not that it would matter much in Trump’s case.
I just issued the following statement:
“Everyone spending any time in the back yard today, particularly my dogs, should set an example to residents by not barking at the dogs next door. This includes the dogs who live with me.”
I’m sure it will work.
“Everyone attending tomorrow’s event, particularly any elected official, should set an example to residents by wearing a mask,” Mayor Kate Gallego wrote in a statement on Tuesday. “This includes the President.”
