Anyone who wins this lottery should be held accountable too. Accepting money in exchange for your vote is a crime. Accepting money in exchange for registering to vote is a crime. Accepting items in exchange for your vote is illegal, so all of the winners, as well as anyone who signed up hoping that they would win, because that’s something of value, should be charged with a crime!

Just saying.

This asshole was made the richest man in the world in America and thanks to America and this is how he repays us. Fuck him. Same goes for Bezos and all the other oligarchs. Hope they enjoy sucking up to Trump and continually paying the higher price for their precious access.

I don’t get it. There’s no way to verify. Can anyone who would sign such a pledge for cash or a lottery entry be trusted to honor it via a secret ballot? He continues to strike me as a clever fool.

Listen to him, Supreme Court.

We need to understand that Musk is even a greater threat to our Republic than Trump. He should be arrested as a domestic terrorist and sent to GITMO and his assets seized to lower the national debt.

If they could knock each other out of public life for good, they would each have done a service to the world.

I like that: don’t get tangled up in debates or logic chopping with dishonest and dishonorable brokers, just frame it tight and take it down.

But there is little doubt that certain immigrants are indeed poisoning our democracy and Elon Reeve Musk (S. Africa) is high up on the list but not necessarily at the top. Take for example:
Keith Rupert Murdoch (Australia); Fox Corp
Peter Andreas Thiel (Germany); various corps/foundations
Miriam Adelson (Israel); Las Vegas Sands, various corps
Patrick Soon-Shiong (S. Africa); LA Times, various institutes

As nasty and ruthless a bunch of reactionary billionaires as one could wish for, assuming that any sane person would wish for such as thing.

I think you’re referring here to the revelation that Elmo was on a student visa to work on a graduate degree at Stanford (?) and violated the terms of his visa. (He never enrolled and started his first business instead.) If so, yeah…once you violate the terms of your visa you’ve become an illegal immigrant. I was distantly involved in international programs when I was a professor, and the folks there were very, very clear with international students: follow the terms of your visa scrupulously, and if necessary err on the side of caution.
