I have that reaction to most white collar crime. Don’t let them spend a few months at Club Fed, then go back to whatever they were doing. Impoverish them, instead. Much more fitting punishment. Kivas Fajo.

The impact of sitting in jail because you can’t afford bail, or the cost of lawyer(s) to defend you against minor crimes, can wreck of working class family faster than a rich family. And the effects can be felt into the next generation.

My best guess is that the golf courses are a money laundering Ponzi scheme. He’s betting that somebody will be there when it’s time to refinance with the next round of funny money.

I’m not sure Trump is that clever. I think he’s just a terrible businessman who doesn’t know how to invest, or how to turn a profit on anything. But maybe someone in the T.O. is the Ponzi in these schemes, the one who knows how to keep it going.
