Pennsylvania AG Rips GOP Rival Mastriano Over ‘Dangerous’ Big Lie Rhetoric

By the pricking of my thumbs, something stupid this way comes.

The Rio Grande is not near Kansas.

CBS gave Rick Scott a full forum to push his lies and nonsense with no push back.

Strangely, I know Dems in Pennsylvania who only vote for Republicans. I don’t know why they are still keep their Democratic registration. I assume that it’s a left over vestige of the old KKK Democrats from decades ago.

I would say the Reformation and the Declaration of Independence are left turns. If one follows your suggestion of every 250 years are so there is a turn, since both of the previous ones are leftward, wouldn’t the next one most likely be left also?

For some, it’s so they can screw up the primary for the Democrats and then vote for the Gooper in the general. I have some nearly dead relatives in Philly who used to do this.

I love this.

More fitting for Mr Man Fettermen…
Heres an email I got yesterday.

Adam Schiff for Congress

Hey SheSellsSeashells, it’s John.

We both know I don’t look like a typical politician. Maybe that’s why my tattoos are literally the first thing people Google about me.

Well enough Googling. Today I’ll tell you about my tattoos myself.

On my left arm I have the zip code 15104. That’s Braddock, Pennsylvania, my home and the community I was honored to serve as mayor for 13 years. Gisele and I are raising our kids here in Braddock, right across the street from Andrew Carnegie’s first steel mill.

On my right arm I have nine different dates. These are the dates when people were killed through violence in Braddock while I served as Mayor, starting in 2006. Seven out of nine were gun deaths. I actually have to get one more date added because in June of 2018, there was another tragic loss of life. My heart breaks every time I’m reminded of that.

My first tattoo came after January 16, 2006. It was my second week on the job as mayor after winning my election by a single vote. I received a call and was summoned to a police crime scene where a pizza delivery man had been robbed and killed by gun violence.

Every time Braddock lost someone was the worst feeling in the world.

In a close-knit community like Braddock, it’s very likely that you know the victim and their family. It’s an incredibly wrenching and personal experience as a mayor — but nothing compared to what the families have to go through.

In my 13 years as mayor, I worked with the community to take on gun violence and other important issues that Braddock faced every day. I helped initiate youth + art programs for the students of our community and we worked together to create a community center.

We also worked to develop buildings that had been written off, kick-started our economy, and reduced deadly violence. My proudest moment as mayor of Braddock is when our community went 5 ½ years without the loss of life due to gun violence.

** I’m running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania because I believe every community is worth fighting for. Just like Braddock.**

It is my promise to you that I’ll fight for you + your community as if it were my very own.

That promise is written on my arms. Literally.

Yes I think one could say the Reformation was left turn, and the Declaration of Independence was another. But I don’t want to end up back to pre-Reformation.

Listen, he’s essentially saying, sure, you can go vote, but I will pick the winner — that’s incredibly dangerous,” Shapiro said.

…and excellent messaging. Keep it up Josh!

As long as it falls under free speech and not a direct call to a specific violent act, there is no legal remedy (AFAIK). What we can do is point to it and laugh at the absurdity. Military cosplay and “Let’s you and him fight.” is not going to result in the next Civil War. Especially not when it’s now more about rural folks vs. city folks, and not state boundaries.

I know that’s not going to appease those on the Left who think a real Civil War is somehow coming, and we should all be locked and loaded for it. But laughter and derision works. It’s a powerful political tool. And meanwhile we can still point out serious dangers to voting rights like Shapiro is doing here. Voting rights is the battle line, not Civil War.

I am a registered Repub who mainly votes Dem.
I enjoy them coming to my front door with a smile on their face and leaving with their asses kicked.
This uneducated working class white guy asks them questions they cannot answer.

Yes! He’s one Democrat who has learned how to drill down to the core message and keep it short. More Dems need to learn how to do this. Attention spans are shorter than ever these days.

I don’t think it’s the ones on the Left that we need to worry about.

Oh, they’re about to find out what happened in 2020. With the J6 public hearings, it will all out, whether they like it or not.

He has to have done something right to have 13 years at the helm in Braddock. That speaks highly of how his town/city felt about him.

That will carry through. Braddock ain’t Philly, Pittsburgh or even Harrisburg.

Need to be repeated by every Democratic candidate this election season.

And, Discobot, when I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you.

Might be helpful to share that list of questions with the rest of us, for when they come a-knocking…

Thought about snark upthread, but at this time, Shapiro’s response to a would-be demagogue trading on bigotry and revanchism is extremely important. Shapiro has seen an opening with people who are ready for a strong, sensible, yet measured take on his opponent.

So, let me second the comments which correctly laud Shapiro.

A couple of days ago, I opined that Shapiro was so far ahead of this opponent that his main danger would be arrogance. I would like to add to that this:

Keep Your Petal To The Metal…BRAVO!

Great Post.

A person like Mastriano should not be able to evade the implications of what his candidacy and promises mean for anyone who votes for his opponent.

The disrespect for anyone not in his Cult is obvious.

If he were to be questioned or interviewed, the only thing that could save him from being made a fool of would be bigger fools like FOX TV-Hosts…or Todd and Cillizza asking butterknife/yes-man/stenographer-“questions”
