I have read that Mr. Quayle’s ‘dunce’ image was largely a pre-meme media construct, and that he is actually quite intelligent. When VP Pence asked Mr. Quayle for guidance he received excellent advice: which may be one reason he didn’t go along with the insurrection plan.
