Greg Jacob — former attorney for then-Vice President Mike Pence — might play a key role in the California State Bar’s inquiry into ex-Trump attorney John Eastman for his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 elections.
Eastman acknowledged to Trump and others in an Oval Office meeting that his strategy violated the Electoral Count Act and was illegal.
so - Trump and others in that Oval Office meeting were well aware that they were pursuing the performance of an elaborate criminal action.
… criminal - like robbing a bank, hijacking a car - or yeah, stealing an election!
Americans of both political parties should be troubled by this politicization of our nation’s state bars,” Eastman attorney, Randall A. Miller, said in a January statement
“But please ignore all attempts by conservatives, MAGAts and the GOP to totally and completely politicize local school boards, city councils, county boards of supervisors and the courts at every level,” he continued.
Illegal has never been a problem for donnie. Laws tatt support his need in the moment he will like. Those that get in his way he ignores. And his new legal defense theory… since he says some boxes had shoes or pants or shirts … is… NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO SERVICE
But darn…innit nice that he declassified his clothes??
I’ve looked, and been unsuccessful, in finding how Eastman got to Trump. Who brought Eastman to Trump’s attention?
Found it. It was a lawyer and associate of Michael Flynn , who tweeted Trump Eastman’s two-page memo “Operation Pence Card”.
Have any other clerks of Clarence Thomas tried to over throw the US government?
What seems to come up about Trump again and again is he won’t take legal advice unless it comports with his desires and will seek a lawyer to give that to him but will get advice from a non-lawyer or ignore any advice at all if he can’t find one.
Like dealing with a badly spoiled child who could send you, and maybe the entire country, into the corn field.
For the average person, shopping for a legal opinion that conforms to their own twisted concept of the law 1) is far too expensive, and 2) lands said person in jail should such an opinion be presented in a court of law. It says a lot about the two (three? four?) systems of justice in the US that Trump has done this all his life and has been able to afford it and has never been in prison.
What continues to stupefy me is all of these legally trained monsters seeing absolutely no problem with subverting the constitution and the law when it suits their purposes. In everything I have read, I haven’t seen a hint of a conscience or a trace of hesitation to burn everything up to get their plans in place. Just a bunch of Harvard and Yale trained sociopaths playing with the fate of an entire country if not the world. Just another day at the office.
Sociopaths are not always confined to mental hospitals. A case can be made that the billionaire fossil fuel chaps are short-term thinking of nothing more than the rape of the earth.
When I was a lad, I hailed the emergence of Earth Day in the 1970s…imagine if we had had the latter’s cooperation
Nearly all CEOs and politicians exhibit many of the traits we associate with sociopaths. But because the net result of their dysfunction can be spun to be positive we barely register it.
Pence is in monumental inner turmoil … he craves separation from Trump -
but like many of the others, he has the illusion of separation - but -
this is about as much as he is going to get …
