Translation, if you want a Republican to win for governor in Arizona, do not vote for Kari Lake.

Unlike Georgia, this is a real test for Trump’s ability to keep the Republican Party under his control, or in the alternative, destroying it.

I imagine they prefer the execrable over the unspeakable.

Probably Katie Hobbs, present Sec of State. Primary is Aug 2. Mrs VH and I are on travel. Already voted for her.

I often use the analogy that this is like the Iran/Iraq war, where you hope both sides lose.

Karrin, Kari… what the fucking big deal is about?

2B or not 2B??

“Karrin is the best choice for Arizona’s future, and I am proud to support her,” Pence said in his endorsement, calling her “the only candidate for governor that will keep Arizona’s border secure and streets safe, empower parents and create great schools, and promote conservative values.”

Here’s what that means:

That state’s own officials publicly admit that, if it weren’t for “slavery” (literally – read the text of the Thirteenth Amendment), its economy would collapse.

Reminder: This is the economic model on which the Confederate States of America was based.

Indeed! And let us not forget that Pence actually believes in the far-right vision and is actively working to enact it, whereas Trump just uses it for his own ends and isn’t a “True Believer” in anything other than his own best interests.

Conservative “values” like “conservative thinking” is an oxymoron.

An Arizona Republic investigation found that Arizona lawmakers invested more in private prisons after record-high campaign contributions from the industry in recent years.

Private prisons should be banned.

Pence didn’t have the cojones to call out Lake’s bogus election fraud nonsense?

The way I look at this fight within the Republican Party is Chaotic Evil versus Lawful evil with evil being the key word to describe both sides.

That is contest for the Republican nomination for Governor is a great example of the contest between Trump and others, to include Liz Cheney, for control of the Republican Party.

From the old game “Dungeons and Dragons” between “lawful evil” and “chaotic evil”.

A chaotic evil character tends to have no respect for rules, other people’s lives, or anything but their own desires, which are typically selfish and cruel . They set a high value on personal freedom, but do not have much regard for the lives or freedom of other people.

A lawful evil villain methodically takes what he wants within the limits of his code of conduct without regard for whom it hurts . He cares about tradition, loyalty, and order but not about freedom, dignity or life. He plays by the rules but without mercy or compassion.

That is the only real difference is that while both want to change the rules in the same repugnant way, one side realizes they must live with the rules as currently written whereas the other side thinks rules only apply to the other guy.

I think the difference between Democrats and Republicans is that unlike Democrats, historically Republicans will fall in line behind and vote for whomever is the Republican Nominee.
