Pelosi Says Trump Resolution Was Written ‘In The Most Gentle Way’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Wednesday described the House resolution condemning President Donald Trump’s racist tweets as being written “in the most gentle way.”

it anchored itself in the words of Ronald Reagan.

Who, by the way, was also a racist noted for his dog whistling.

As I noted earlier, there was nothing subtle about the message he was sending when he announced his candidacy for POTUS in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Nor was there any mistaking his many comments about the mythical “welfare Cadillacs.”

Fun Fact: The Reagan campaign was asked many times to identify the identity the owner of the “welfare Cadillac.” Unsurprisingly they couldn’t because … well, unicorns.

Trump will not like that. Another tweet storm on the way?

Pelosi: The resolution condemning Trump’s tweets was written “in the most gentle way”

because the Republicans are such delicate snowflakes.

Let us hope that the congressional resolution demanding the impeachment of Dim Don Ugh is just a bit LESS ‘gentle’.

This could be characterized as the “second stab” of the knife, much more diplomatic than the first. Smart move, Nancy!!

“And doing so, it anchored itself in the words of Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan, beautiful speech by Ronald Reagan, which I reference all the time.”

So Nancy Pelosi worships Ronald Reagan (R-Racist). Who knew? References him “all the time.”

Maybe she does not remember his central America policy and Iran-Contra. Or Reagan secretly negotiating with the Iranians to hold the American hostages until after the election to hurt Jimmy Carter (D-Human Rights).

I guess she could not find any quotes from POC or women to use.

Nancy Pelosi proves once again that she is utterly tone deaf and out of touch with rank-and-file Democrats. Kidnapped babies are dying and in cages, and she is worried about being gentle with the racist Republicans.

But he was a genial racist asshole.

“Frankly Nancy, I’ve had it up to my keister with all these people calling me senile. Oh, sorry Maggie, the accent threw me.”

Yeah, we beat Hitler by being gentle, too (and yes the comparison is apt). We need a wartime leader. She’s not that. Anyone who still thinks she’s playing a brilliant “long game” is an idiot. She’s not playing any game. She’s just in denial and avoidance mode, as usual. And no, this will not win over those “centrist” Trump voters. Again, idiocy. Biden would be the same, btw.

Um, she invokes him because among Republicans, Reagan is still a heroic and adored example of their party. It directs their attention to a comparison to the current occupant in the WH.

It is the knife slicing another cut into the Orangeman’s tender hide.

OT but very enlightening As Josh said following the leader Rush Limbaugh Flip-flops On The Deficit

“It condemned the words of the President. Not the President, but the words of the President,”

which is precisely the distinction that Pelosi should NOT be making at this moment in public.

Donald Trump is a racist. His words were intentional – there is no separation between “the words of the President” and “the President”, and no such distinctions should ever be made when its clear that racist rhetoric was deliberately employed.

Now, it may well be that the Blue Dog “dog whistle democrats” that Pelosi is so protective of demanded that the resolution focus on Trump’s “words”, rather than calling Trump a racist – because calling Trump a racist would upset racists in their districts. So MAYBE it was necessary for the resolution to be so weak.

But that does not excuse Pelosi’s implicit denial that Trump himself is a racist.

Yea I kind of cringed when I read that. I am not sure this isnt kind of twisting the knife a bit. She has been in office a long time, she should know how to use it.

Trump: Pelosi and each and every Democrat is a racist. Orange colored people have rights as well.

no, it was a dog-whistle. When combined with the “only his words were racist” stuff, Pelosi is sending a message to Trump country voters – telling them “we don’t mind your racism. Just don’t make it TOO obvious”

That Reagan quote is a recurring one whenever Pelosi mentions immigration. Maybe not effective but I don’t think it’ll suddenly become harmful after all these years.

It was actually “Welfare Queens,” a slur Ronald Reagan (R-Racist) used for black single mothers.

But I probably should not mention this because Pelosi (D-Paper Tiger) has decided it is “Be Gentle with Racists” week, and we should all be honoring Ronald Reagan (R-Racist) as a model proponent of American diversity and equal rights.

Anything said against our greatest President ever ,even in an most gentle way, is worse than saying there is no God.
