Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Thursday she will support Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in his California Senate bid if Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) decides to retire next year.
All the more reason to support Katie Porter.
She’s one of the best of the bunch, maybe THE best.
It’ll be Schiff, and not just because Pelosi’s backing him. But fortunately, I here in California will get to vote for him, You who don’t live here, you know who you are, neener neener.
I’d frankly be good with Schiff or Porter in the seat. I would rather Rep. Porter stay in the House for a while; she gives good whiteboard.

I’m pretty fucking aware of Nancy Pelosi’s import and accomplishments. I’m not an illiterate moron. But I happen to also be of the opinion that Democratic leadership needs generational change. Hakeem Jeffries is great. Do more of that.

Schiff is 60. Jeffries is 52. Is east Texas considered part of Appalachia? Where else is 8 years thought to be a generation? 
Wouldn’t be the first time for me, I used to live in his district.

Adam Schiff is 62. He’ll be 64 when he’s sworn into the Senate. He’ll be running for reelection at 70. He’s been in the House for 22 years. He’s literally a Baby Boomer.
Katie Porter is 49. She’ll be 51 when she’s sworn into the Senate. She’ll be running for reelection at 57. She’s been in the House for 4 years. She’s literally a Gen X-er. And more to the point, she’s much stronger than Schiff on economic issues.
You sound… young… and of high class (academic) rank. Or, you could be old, like me, who want nothing to do with old people my age. Hence, I’m green with envy (lust no longer works for me) as I see younger folk as green as I am with envy for their age.

I really hate being sworn at first thing in the day. There’s supposed to be a civil exchange of ideas here, try it. It’s politics, not a decision to take up arms against an enemy.
Schiff as senator is going to be a major thorn in Kev’s side. A Democratic senator who hates him, is smarter, and Kev will eventually have to refer to him as Senator Schiff from California, Kev’s home. He’ll choke on the words.
