House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) slammed President Donald Trump and the White House’s actions detailed in a whistleblower complaint as “a cover-up” on Thursday.

Crickets from the other side of the aisle. I can imagine Republicans weighing in on other issues…

“Was Stalin responsible for genocide?”

“What Stalin did was not okay.”

“Was he responsible for genocide?”

“I found aspects of what Stalin did troubling.”

“Was it genocide?”

“We still lack all the relevant information, but I am deeply concerned.”

“A cover-up!” Simple and direct. Exactly the type of messaging Democrats need to use.

Yes, but I think a slight bit of humor might help the cause. “Things were so covered up that Trump can’t see for the lack of daylight under there.” How about that one?

The Whitehouse had a cover up party and all the best people attended.
Barr, Pompeo and VP Pence. The party’s over.

But a day may come when someone speaks and is heard. That is a day a tyrant should fear above all.

I’m wondering how public opinion will shake out in the days and weeks to come.

“Cover up”

I’ve heard that term before.

Cover up, schmover up. When the President does it, that means it’s not illegal.

The Republican Party wasn’t quite ready to embrace the Führerprinzip in 1973. Times have changed since then.

I’m expecting a short burst of rallying the troops support, followed by a precipitous nosedive slightly beyond the 40% he’s been steady at…maybe into the 35% range…but as my photo above suggests, there won’t be many who find themselves admitting this went beyond the pale. In fact, the paler the better as far as they’re concerned.

I think he’s going to lose 5-6 points permanently.

I think Pelosi has been eager to impeach, but wasn’t quite ready to pull the trigger. But this Ukraine thing kind of forced the timing. So I’m not surprised to see her already giving unequivocal support to impeachment.

God, let’s hope she’s got all her ducks in a row. She’s facing the entire Executive branch, most of the Judiciary, and the upper chamber of the Legislative. Plus Trump’s allies in Russia, Saudi Arabia, organized crime, organized white-collar crime, organized money, and right-wing propaganda. And every one of those adversaries fights dirty.

make an example of Maguire, it needs to be done, then go after every other smug fucker who refused to answer questions using their ridiculous logic for why they didn’t answer the direct and reasonable question, and see if they want a second chance to answer straight this time, if not, inherent contempt is appropriate and start fining the shit out of them

You left out Stormfront, the American Nazi Party, and the Ku Klux Klan. Not to mention a large number of heavily armed, albeit somewhat ludicrous, “militias”.

When all this is done, I’d rather that be inches off of the top of his head.

Indeed…cover up of the trumpian proportion!

Acting DNI gets a whistle blower complaints and first thing he did, Report to the subjects…WH & DOJ.

Then, he argues that it is NOT urgent…so why lock down the transcript in a Code-word server if it is not urgent to American national security?
