Pelosi Plans To Appoint Kinzinger To Jan. 6 Committee Following GOP Walkout | Talking Points Memo

I know you say that in jest but honestly, it’s shaping up to be epic as it is.

I know this is quite Off Topic, but as relates to Kinzinger and Cheney now being on an island and voters like @kelaine’s mom and many other voters who were turned-off by Chump but still vote R otherwise…what could we do as a D herd that is separate from much of our D party officials and the way they campaign, but complimentary. I mean, the D officials don’t have to advertise this, but voting blocs could do this separately and complimentary to the D official efforts without stepping on the official plans and create our own force.

I have read posts here at TPM that talk a little tongue-in-cheek about Ds from some states moving to R states. Some posters here are very tied into national, state, and local politics enough to know what would trigger a pendulum swing enough in Purple areas to make a difference. And I just read an article about a Chump endorsed TX state pol who the D candidate said he would vote for the other R choice. Not an endorsement, but where a D knows he can’t win, would vote for the Non-Chumpy option.

What could the D herd do for the 22 elections that could make a substantial difference? My mind swims, I don’t know rules and regs and options well enough to be smart about this.

But I would think we could be very disruptive if enough folks registered and voted in R primaries, where applicable. Ratfucking of every kind. We are nothing but the victims of every bad faith effort because we never pull any tricks of our own. When states are moving to change all the rules and move the goalposts, it is time we muddied the waters in whatever way helps us. Endorsements or fake endorsements of Chump candidates, and Dems influencing elections for the least Chumpy R candidates. Our own Facebook disinformation campaigns and planting doubts in R voters minds, giving them fake rabbits to chase down holes. I would think it would be easy to confuse and sow dischord among those false-flag conspiracists.

Anybody have any great ideas or know of such movements afoot? I know moving to another state is way too much commitment and timeframes for 22 would start to get closed if there are waiting periods, for example, in changing one’s party affiliations/registrations.

ETA: This article is what got me thinking.

About a TX race. There have to be some states, and some districts, where the Ds aren’t going to win (where the rules allow some D ratfucking like changing registration or cross-party voting) but we can get the least Chumpy candidate elected and perhaps much more.

All the GOP has had, for years, are stupid adolescent stunts designed to get eyeballs and “own the libs” but rarely to advance anything resembling policy.

In March and April in 2020, a few large cats in NYC zoos also caught it. From what I understand, it affects big cats differently, and it didn’t kill them.

I’m old enough to remember paperbacks that served the same function as deepfake videos, podcasts etc with nutty conspiracies and canards.

Meh, we tried but the Retardlicans wouldn’t participate. Good ghosting, by the way.

It would take a very large movement, and I don’t know if that’s possible.

Also, I’m not keen on the idea of Repubs voting in Democratic primaries, so I’m also not into forgoing my own Democratic primary to vote in a Republican one.

It’s been well over 6 months since the insurrection and they haven’t even started investigating yet. Can we stop acting like we just routed the R’s out of town until anything of substance comes from this?

That’s how my mom was, too. She got fed up with the Republican bullshit while Boehner was Speaker. Life-long Republican, Trump only pushed her further toward the Dems (but of course, also a life-long New Yorker, so well-familiar with what a lying vapid snake Donald Trump is). Then, at some point in 2018, she found Nicolle Wallace’s show on MSNBC, and well… by that winter, she was watching Maddow, too.

And she made damned sure to vote when early voting opened last year. The only reason she waited for the second day of early voting was her engineering side saying ‘let them figure out what they screwed up on day one’.

Somewhat OT:

It looks like another Bishop hypocrite got his panties in a wad and decided to tell everyone.

I wonder if he’ll get caught going to a celibate gay bar, or just have child porn found on his laptop?

My elderly mom was a Republican. I talk to her every day. I can’t even mention Trump.

She hates no one, she insists on seeing the good in everyone. But but she hates Trump. Hard.

One of the reasons it makes me sad is that there are so few left – maybe less than 7,000 worldwide. And that it might have been (probably) infected by a human in a zoo in which the leopard is held captive. What we, as self-centered, all-consuming humans, have done to these elusive, resplendent animals.
