House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) slammed President Trump for his response to nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death during an interview on ABC Sunday morning.
Because we have an anti-President, maybe Nancy could step into the void and calm the nation. Or, Biden could step into his future role now. Or Obama, anyone, please.
This is the America Trump wants and needs.
He wants to turn our military loose on some of us to claim is is protecting the rest of us.
He wants martial law to calm the protests and be the hero.
If he was a man he would walk out of the dog protected White House and face the protesters.
It’s kind of hard to slam his response when there really has been no response. I watched CNN’s coverage late into the night last night, not a peep from tRump even when the fires started in DC. He is incapable of a meaningful response, no empathy and diminished mental faculties assure that.
“…most ominous weapons” is something that shows a never-ending yearning to be considered important and powerful. Every time he says something like this, he is actually begging to be respected.
And he’s too moss-stupid to understand that he is essentially pulling his pants down in public.
My representative is absolutely right – Trump is different in kind from previous presidents, both Democratic and Republican. Biden’s speech places him firmly in that tradition, a person able to imagine acting in the country’s interest rather than his own.
He probably thinks all this chaos from the pandemic to the protests are going to be good for getting him reelected. I shutter to think of the tactics his campaign will use to try to win again.
Remember when his impeachment was a big deal? How many years ago was that?
Not a case of probably. This is the best thing that has happened to him in months and will serve to rile his craven base to unprecedented support. He can just let this fester the entire summer and dream of his second inauguration.
We can’t let that happen. We can’t let the narrative of his failures of leadership lead to a second term. They must be highlighted daily and loudly.
Pelosi argued that the President “should bring dignity to the office that he serve”
Oh Nancy, he has had many, many opportunities in the past 3 1/2 years to do that and never once did he rise to the occasion and he won’t now esp. since it has a racial component to it which grist for the mill for his racist supporters.
He had 8 years as a VP and had a great platform to speak for police reform, but I don’t recall anything. Michele O. did more in any reform area than he did. I hope this time it’s not just talk.
Yup, there is a long tradition from George Wallace, Richard Nixon to Ronald Reagan of a candidate running on the “Law and Order” platform. Trump is happy to have the narrative change from his incompetence and cluelessness in dealing with Corona virus to burning cities.
Not the best thing to happen to him by a long shot. He continues to reject any chance of getting new voters with his desperation to keep his base. trump does not have the votes to win with his existing base, and might even lose some of the older blacks that voted for him last time. His base is his base - nothing changes it except of course death from COVID.
LISTEN to her…Trump doesn’t not want you to focus on the 100,000 dead on his watch. He wants to blame the burning of the cities on the ‘Leftists’. He’s also cancelled the G7 because he doesn’t want the countries there who will criticize him…instead he wants to pack it with the despots.
Trump wants a rerun of 1968, but with over 105k dead Americans and 41 million Americans unemployed due to a grossly mismanaged pandemic, and racial strife from coast to coast, I don’t see how too many people think things are better now than four years ago. And if they think things are worse, I don’t see how any reasonable person pins that on anyone but Trump. He may not willingly accept any responsibility, but responsibility is coming for him regardless.
