On the heels of her directive to House Democrats to proceed on articles of impeachment, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) grew heated when a reporter asked if she hates President Trump.
“I don’t hate anyone. I was raised in a way that is a heart full of love and I always pray for the President. And I still pray for the President. I pray for the President all the time. So don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that.”
Good on Ms. Pelosi…articulate and clear and strong. (I’m liking her more now than I ever have.) The question asked was locked and loaded from the beginning. Kind of like asking if you beat your wife. The ask implies there is some question about the matter. Kind of like when a question starts with ‘some people say’. When you hear that, it’s time to change the channel.
This country could have been a really great place to live if we’d had the good sense to shut down the GOP when everyone stopped buying their product at the end of the 20th century. Instead we have to deal with this nonsense.
Oh, snap! Dumbass Sinclair guy…as if there’s any other kind.
Needless to say…this footage will not be airing on Sinclair. Instead they’ll have their anchors recite a statement about how Democrats hate America, with all the aplomb of someone in a hostage situation.
ETA: Im just glad they didn’t ask me that question. I don’t hate anyone, but with Trump, I have to make an exception. Though it’s more despise and detestation.
Well replied! The additional question back should have been, “Why does the President and Republicans hate poor people, women, minorities, puppies, kittens, and all that is wholesome and good?”
And there’s no institutional blowback for these assholes nasquerading as journalists. Can you imagine how the institutional members of the press would have responded if one of their own had asked Paul Ryan: “Do you hate Obama?” Chuck Todd, after he got over his apoplexy, would personally type up the guy’s resignation letter for him.
That’s been the Republican mantra for years, how the Dems “hate” them and are cruel and vicious. It’s one of the most severe cases of projection this country has seen. Yet the raving hordes of "Lock Her Up"pers swallow it uncritically.
It’s sure nice having someone hit back in public. I can’t wait for this primary season to be over and we have a candidate. Whoever it is HAS to be able to think fast and furiously on his/her feet. That’s my concern with our, um, more mature candidates. I’d love to see Schiff respond to an obnoxious question like that.
