Joe will be there for debates. Trump is the one who is going to find a way to duck them, he’s already setting it up by requesting more debates, so he can say that it’s unfair to just have the agreed-upon ones.

Don’t see this as a lose at all for Biden to be there or a risk.

While I agree in theory, I also think Trump will use this as an excuse to not debate and blame it on Senile Grandpa Joe.

If that really happens, then I don’t see a downside for Biden. The whole “senile joe biden” has been answered with “Man, Woman, Camera, TV”.

I love how Pelosi delegitimizes Trump, but I want Biden to push Trump to debate. Trump will grumble about the rules and pull out, won’t let Mikey debate Kamala, either.

I’m sure that’s how Republicans will try and play it, but I don’t think Joe’s gonna listen anyway. Pelosi is just being an attack dog here, and she hit her mark.

Totally correct, those “undecided” voters are really Trump voters unwilling to admit that they like Trump in their reptilian brain, and they can’t coherently state a reason, and they come with bullshit excuses like “emails” and “socialism”, but in reality they like them because they are deep, hard core racists…

Me three. Although I would personally like to debate Rump on short notice and all he knows me by is A Democrat. The rules would have to be no lying, no bloviating, no name calling, no Twitter tantrums. Which means Tweetie would be incapable of communicating at all.

If this had been a legitimate candidate, (hell even Mittens at this point!), I would agree that the suggestion was counter-intuitive for the Democrats. Maybe even damaging.

I don’t know that I disagree with her, think she’s playing her usual 11-ty-dimensional chess again, and the comments on their face are not meant to all be taken at face value. Looks like she’s trying to put a finger on the scale about fact-checking live during the debate. And most likely doing this in direct coordination with Biden.

I keep hearing the usual knee-jerkers squeal that OF COURSE JOE HAS TO DO THE DEBATES!!!

For those who want to actually stop and think about the question:

  1. Trump needs the debates, not Joe, and he will turn them into a circus. Joe will be insulted, lied about, and forced to keep up with a firehose stream of ridiculous lies. My guess is Trump will bring some fake Ukrainian with him to tell lies about Joe & his son.

  2. It’s nearly impossible to debate a stone cold liar.

  3. HILLARY STOMPED ON TRUMP MORE DECISIVELY THAN ANY PREZ DEBATE IN HISTORY AND IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE…

There is absolutely no reason for Biden to go. It is Trump’s only chance to get back into the race. If Biden goes, he should condition it on the attendance onstage of a live fact checker.

If I were Biden, I’d open the debate by pointing out that it’ll be the only political event in America this year that Trump didn’t live-tweet. And then make little thumb-tapping motions on an invisible phone whenever Trump speaks.

Instead of debating, Biden should publicly challenge imPotus to a round of golf. On foot, no carts, no “pele” kicking, 20 cameras broadcasting it live.

I disagree. This would play right into Trump’s hands. “See, he’s too weak and feeble to debate me.” And they would still have the debates, but they would only include the Orange Plague, who will stand there and lie, unchecked, unchallenged.
