House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Saturday warned voters to ignore President Donald Trump’s increasingly desperate attempts to attack both the US Postal Service and the legitimacy of voting by mail, saying that it is all “designed to suppress the vote.”
Again Trump comes up with tried and true methods to get the RNC into trouble. Trump isn’t an original thinker.
And I am not worried so much about the GOP shenanigans, I’m more worried about Trump’s supporters shenanigans. I know, I know there isn’t a difference between the two anymore, but…
And I glad that NoJoy went before the Senate first because it gives time for Katie Porter and her staff to know what to expect and do the research to destroy him.
“The Postal Service is fully capable of delivering the nation’s election mail securely and on time,” DeJoy told lawmakers, but I don’t intend to let it.
I wonder when Pelosi starts preparing the public for a Pelosi presidency while Trump ties up the Biden campaign with electoral litigation after Biden wins the election.
As the Associated Press reports, the bill does a number of things, including:
Institutes a mandatory 45 day sentence for “rioting”
Increases fines for blocking highways
requires that protesters pay for any damage to state property
makes assaulting a “first responder” a Class C felony with a 90 day mandatory sentence
Most of these changes seem to be addressing events that supposedly occurred in other states, and which have been at the center of a “cities in chaos” theme pushed by Donald Trump and Fox News. But the biggest change in the bill is that makes “illegally camping” on state property a Class E felony.
I’m glad Pelosi said this, but the Democrats need to get much blunter. “Donald Trump is trying to take away your vote because he is afraid of it. He knows he has failed you and he doesn’t have what it takes to make it right and he wouldn’t if he could.”
So Chief Justice Roberts, what say you? Has this country, our conservative politicians, the RNC, and the old South really changed at all? Any chance we can get a mulligan out of you?
We noticed that he is actively conning the country, raking it in and has no compunction to actually do the job. It is not just that he doesn’t have what it takes, he doesn’t care.
I think the harder he tries to suppress the vote, the more determined most Americans will be in trying to make their vote count.
Nothing Trump does ever works out. As I recall, he really didn’t even want to win the 2016 election. And now that he wants to win the 2020 election, it’s not going to happen.
Well, let Donald play games. I am seeing Biden signs popping up left and right here in San Antonio. There is something definitely happening. And I have not seen a recent Trump sign yet, just the standard idiots who have one up all year long. And that is not that many.
Now if mine would be delivered I could join the fun. Bet it is stuck at the Post Office.
Trump is out to suppress every thing that is not Trump.
Not only the USPS but intelligence, our Constitution, and anything else, no matter how simple, he does not have the ability to understand.
Being Putin’s puppet makes life easy for Trump. Do what you are told and shut the fuck up.
I’m glad she said it as well. This should start being part of any statement made by and Dem. Trump is trying to suppress the vote because he knows if people vote he will lose.
They need to pass a bill that provides for an independent and party balanced committee of forensic computer scientists (or whoever can check this stuff out) to do an analysis on every voting system that does not have paper ballot backup, and then to do a post election analysis to determine if any hacking or manipulation of votes can happen or has happened. Or, possibly create a fund that creates paper backups of all ballots cast so that a post-election recount can be made. The Trump campaign has already stated in writing that the only standard for changing election processes is that something “could” happen, so I’m sure that they won’t object.
The worst thing that could happen to Trump is for there to be a way to identify and stop any manipulation of machine voting, but he is the one who is supposedly so concerned about vote rigging, so this should not be an issue. Name the bill “The Donald J. Trump insuring the validity of the vote” bill. (Or, since we must always use 4th grade language, “The Donald J. Trump Un-rig The Vote Bill”.)
