This one rich twit in horse country near me ran out and raised her flag upside down when Obama was reelected, evidently thinking the black helicopters were already on their way to do whatever black helicopters do. The neighbors, longtime country-club Republicans themselves, chuckled and thought she was pretty silly, which she is.

I don’t want an norm of protocol to be followed, I want a symbol to show the extraordinary loss this country has suffered. So I suggest the empty pair of shoes on the National Mall. And if Trump comes out to address the people then there is the ammunition there on hand to express the Iraqi dissatisfaction with liars and bullshitters. GWB only had one shoe thrown at him, how many can we throw at Trump?

I’m all for honoring the dead, and a flag at half mast is a good start.
Then can we do a monument, like the Vietnam War monument?
