Holding any Trump toady in contempt is meaningless. In order to prosecute the contempt citation it goes to the Federal Prosecutor who works for the Trump Justice Department. They would Never NEVER
prosecute one of their own ! NEVER ! It’s the total corruption of this Administration.
I posted that list, because there’s a strange notion that she isn’t doing anything or not enough, yet 136 Democrats (some from purple areas) are willing to buck her.
What has the party as a whole done to prepare? There’s never been a consistent message around Trump’s actions that frames existing facts and those likely to come to light.
The closest thing has been to say “Trump is corrupt.” Guess what. His base of MAGA chuds doesn’t care, and neither do the wealthy recipients of his tax cuts.
“Trump is not a loyal American” is more explosive, demands media attention, and is entirely consistent with what we already know and are likely to find out. (Note I didn’t say “Trump is a traitor.”)
My belief is when the the Repubs talk tough and raise their voices the Dems back down.
Just what I see as an outsider.
Sure Lucy, I’ll kick that football, just be sure to hold it still this time.
Pelosi and Nadler need to get their act together. I don’t think anyone can argue with that.
Mixed messages from Pelosi.
Either it’s fisticuffs and hardball time, or it’s not. Pick one.
If it doesn’t, the Impeachment refusers are more than Blue Dogs, they are Yellow Dogs.
The WhistleBlower Complaint is very serious. It was noted on Lawrence’s show last night that these matters are not subject to time-wasting court procedures–the notion is that National Security matters may come at the nation too fast for Clarence Thomas to eventually clear anything Donald Trump does.
What that means is that this is a situation in which a Barr-like government creature can use this to say, “no dice” OR a sensible government can decide to keep Barr out of the loop (a loop he, by law, should not be within in this case) and provide the appropriate documents to Schiff and the House Intel Committee.
It is the job of the House of Representatives (and they all took an oath) to uphold the constitution. One of their jobs is to hold the executive accountable. Worrying more about your next election is NOT doing your job.
For the first time since January I agree with Nancy.
But she should get off her duff and get fighting. If she is, I’m sure not hearing anything, so in effect she is not. Politics is perception, my perception is she wants more of the same-o, same-o, which is not working.
What is the Pelosi take on what Trump and his campaign has done? If she had to explain Trump’s behavior in a single sentence to the American people, what would it be?
Here is the joke headline on the DCCC website:
“Protect & Expand Our Democratic Majority
Help Us Hold Trump Accountable”
Of course, Pelosi is refusing to support the one thing the House can do to “Hold Trump Accountable” because the DCCC is raking in the money by pretending that they are holding Trump accountable. That money then goes to pay bribes to campaigns of incumbents who will vote the way Pelosi wants them to vote.
And she has blacklisted consultants who provide services to primary challengers to any of her bought-and-paid-for incumbents.
Follow the money.
I’ll posit nearly the same 46% of the electorate that put Trump in office doesn’t care if he is disloyal or a traitor, rendering those offenses as disqualifying him for office null. It’s hyperbolic to say, but I do not think there is any crime Trump could commit, and be proven to have done, that would alienate his supporters. For them he does a couple key things that enthrall them. For the rich he cuts their taxes, sweeps away regulations and generally gives much more than a wink and a nod they’ll always come first and be taken care of. For everyone else in his camp he makes a point of daily “owning the libs”. He’s loved for doling out money and trolling. And that’s enough to win again if Dems don’t play 2020 correctly.
Pelosi Admonishes Dems For Not Holding Lewandowski In Contempt ‘Then And There’
Proving once again that Irony is dead…
It would be a strongly worded sentence.
Maybe.
The last time a monarch (make no mistake that is how Trump views himself) had this much contempt for a legislature, they took off his head. Nancy needs to reel in Trump or the congress will lose all of its constitutional authority.
YEP… Nancy as speaker is what she wants
I think we’re already past that point.
Defund the Whitehouse. Leave Trump with a secretary. Layoff all of his toadies. Melania can change the sheets.
Hey, hey, hey your about to be called crazy with the thoughts about cash.
I’m told that near every time I mention that Dem Leadership likes it as it is, cash flows in, power stays where it currently resides.
