Extremely skeevy the way Pecker calls Chump ‘the boss’. He seems to like having a bully to mollify.
" Pecker Back On The Stand As Trump Trial Resumes"
Oh come on TPM, just how many double-entendre opportunities come along like this??
20 minutes and a glass of orange juice. Pecker is ready to hammer away.
The hearing was on a ten minute recess just a bit ago. I have to wonder if that might be completing the paperwork (dotting the i’s, crossing the t’s) of a judgment on the gag order.
It doesn’t look too good if that goes days or into next week. No deterrent if nothing is said or done and that line will be crossed many more times.
I think he’s quoting Cohen on that.
What this does is set up the ‘organization’ of the transactions.
I took ‘boss’ references to being to TIFBG coming from Cohen, not from Pecker.
The discussion partly dealt with texts from Dylan Howard, the National Enquirer editor. Per prosecutors, he purportedly wrote, “at least if he wins, I’ll be pardoned for electoral fraud” and “I’ll get pardoned so its fine.”
The texts are between Howard and an unnamed family member.
Merchan says that he’s barring the texts from being introduced for the time being.
WTF?
Yes! Please burn money in one of the most expensive media markets in the country! Next up, head to Los Angeles and spend money there! And let’s not leave out San Francisco and Chicago! SPEND, SPEND SPEND!!!
“the brand”
The Jeopardy question is: what is sacrosanct?
Yeah WTF? Merchan wants this trial to go on a little longer, and admitting these texts would basically end Chump’s case and get it over too fast?
The magazine sells widely in Walmart, Pecker said, and such an association would damage the brand.
How the fuck does stories involving porn stars somehow damage their brand of sleaze?
I don’t know about this jury and their finding on the facts of the case. But at least there will be no doubt in their mind what a horrific human Chump is and what horrific things all these people were up to protecting him, caving in to him, covering up for him. And no doubt at all in their minds that much worse was going on than they even suspected or ever heard about.
And on top of that, these facts are trickling out to the public as well. Perhaps all the persuadables in the country are not following this as closely as we are…but there aren’t any ‘good’ pieces for Chump that are going to come out. Every single bit of it is bad for him.
And a bit of a counter-balance to the SCOTUS thread, where we see the highest court in the land tying themselves into corrupt knots and betraying their oaths and betraying the country…out in regular USA people are just plain tired of Chump and getting more tired by the minute. He looks weak, he looks vulnerable, and he is so deep in the gutter (and dragging everything with him) that a lot more people just can’t countenance subjecting the nation to any more of it.
Trump is the National Enquirer version of a Benito wannabe.
If you haven’t been reading the live blog, now’s a good time to start. The Stormy story has begun.
Nope.
One thing about Pecker and his slimy business – you have to have a pretty solid understanding of the law to not get caught.
So when Pecker said something was illegal, he knew it really was.
Trump over-assessing value again–
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pecker recalled Trump as replying. “Michael Cohen has multiple apartments in my buildings, he owns 50 taxi medallions which are worth $10 million apiece.”
Per Wiki–
In 2013, the price of a medallion was $625,000.[6] In 2014, that price had risen to around $700,000.[7] Shortly thereafter, however, medallion prices began to sharply decline. According to the Boston Herald, by the end of 2018, the value of a Boston Taxi Medallion had collapsed; after reaching an all-time high in 2014, prices had fallen to around $40,000, representing a 95% loss.[8]
Then this thing called Uber came along…
I switched over to this thread from the SCOTUS immunity thread because it was making me sick to my stomach. Soon, I’m going to have to resort to watching Bob Ross paint to calm down.
