Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) defended his decision to not self-quarantine as he waited for the results of his coronavirus test, in a Monday afternoon statement.
It was my extra precaution, out of concern for my damaged lung, that led me to get tested.
Saying the quiet part out load again…Typical GOP asshole It’s all about me
Paul, said that both the extensive travel that he and his wife had taken in recent weeks and the higher risks he faces following the removal of part of his lung last year prompted him to take a COVID-19 test upon arriving in Washington, D.C. last Monday.
Questions: When he had part of his lung removed, did he also have part of his brain and his entire soul removed? Or were those earlier surgeries?
And, has his wife been tested? If so, when and why? Any symptoms with Ms. Paul (other than generalized nausea related to being married to him)?
“For those who want to criticize me for lack of quarantine, realize that if the rules on testing had been followed to a tee, I would never have been tested and would still be walking around the halls of the Capitol,” Paul wrote. “The current guidelines would not have called for me to get tested nor quarantined. It was my extra precaution, out of concern for my damaged lung, that led me to get tested.”
I’m trying to parse this in some way that actually addresses “those who want to criticize [him] for lack of quarantine”. I’m coming up empty. His biggest concern seems to be for his own lung. I guess he is being true to his libertarian ideals - me me me me and if you didn’t want to catch a deadly virus from me you should have made different choices.
