I “liked” this post insofar as I appreciate your willingness to voice what we suspect will come to pass.

But man, I would have loved just a couple more minutes of fantasizing that justice could be served and that our Justice Department was not already corrupted from top to bottom because of Barr.

It is not. But Team Trump knows how to leverage, compromise and blackmail people. The problem with this is that, unlike inanimate things like the bricks and steel that make engineering such a precise endeavor, dealing with people always has surprises and goofs.

Heck no. I keep thinking of the republican criticism of Obama because he withdrew “too soon” from Iraq. And these mugs go in and really make an even bigger mess of the whole situation.

Republicans are absolutely incompetent when it comes to everything but lying and grifting and lining their own pockets.

Thing is, Barr really is hemmed in by professionals in the lower-middle levels of DOJ who insist upon doing their actual jobs. He can’t just issue orders and see them carried out if they run counter to DOJ policy or the clear language of the criminal laws.
