From the FatFelon on down, this bunch will never, ever admit that they screwed up. That is another rightwing hardline trait. They cannot admit to being wrong about anything, because that is the breeze that begins the gale that blows down their house of cards. It is all about being “god’s chosen” that makes it imperative that everything they do is “perfect, beautifull and always RIGHT”
Still, Larry’s statement did inspire some headlines, and got a response from Scott Bessent, the Treasury secretary. Did Bessent explain why he thinks the administration is right and almost the entire economics profession is wrong? No: he immediately accused Summers of being, in effect, a paid protestor:…
This isn’t how democratic governments respond to criticism.
Republican’s communication patterns to each other and the the public now fully embrace the mode of autocrats.
I get the feeling I may have waited a little too long to buy a car.
“sorry kids but Sesame Street has been cancelled by the letters D, E, & I…”
Or not long enough. What goes up must come down. We will be in a similar position next year.
It’s like insisting on textual literalism in the Bible. If you can find one problem there, the whole thing comes tumbling down.
Never mind the fact that translations, missing original texts, and found docs after the fact can alter things substantially.
I wonder if this is to solve a problem of a, let’s say frisson, between two female lawyers that are loyal to Trump?
And it hadn’t sunk in that Ed Martin, current acting US Attorney for DC, also represented several J6th defendants. I think that’s why he’s where he is.
This is a list of the largest daily changes in the Dow Jones Industrial Average from 1896. Compare to the list of largest daily changes in the S&P 500 Index. The first four tables show only the largest one-day changes between a given day's close and the close of the previous trading day, not the largest changes during the trading day (i.e. intraday changes). Some sources (including the file Highlights/Lowlights of The Dow on the Dow Jones website) show a loss of −24.39% (from 71.42 to 54.00)...
Pam Bondi said that the contents of the Signal chat exchange were “sensitive,” but not “classified.” WTF is the difference??? Does she think the citizenry is that stupid?
To be fair to Pam Bondi, she has plenty of reasons that the citizenry are a bunch of morons. They re-elected Donald Trump.
Anyone seriously thinking of taking a job in this administration should pause to reflect that it’s one of those places where shit is hurried downhill.
The trans people in the military issue has a parallel situation here in my town of Loveland, CO. I attended a school board meeting on Wednesday that had over 100 citizen remarks either for or against a particular board member who’s very anti-trans. She had gathered her minions to argue against trans women in girls sports. So local allies gathered to support the trans kids. I left after about 2 hours and they were still going strong.
We’ve become the United States of Repetitive Hot Stove Touching.
Stealing this!
I don’t know. A different time when some names were common for men or women. The great actor Carrol O’Conner comes to mind. Francis, Leslie are also examples.
LOL…I dunno if this is real, but it IS funny (and here I was making jokes yesterday about what the eggplants in his Venmo meant)…
This entire farce of an “administration” is a made for TV fantasy. There is not an iota of serious thought in the GOP/MAGA party.

Her actual job under Trump, and not the one in the traditional description of AG, is to tell his voters what they want to hear. Most of them know it’s stupid, but they need affirmation and defense of Dear Leader. Move along. Nothing to see here.
Oooh, catnip for this guy who knows Jesus spoke Aramaic but that the NT was written in Greek - the gospels a generation after his death (or later - Mark in the mid 70s, John between 85-125 [yikes!], and Matt and Luke - who the hell knows - go ask Q on which they are based (not “Anon”, I mean “Die Quelle” on which Luke and Matthew are based), Acts about ten years after his death. Yeah, Jesus’ ministry and what he said is a shit show for scholars. But yeah, let’s base a 21st century government on that foundation of (quick) sand . . . .
That’s because it’s a violation of the Hatch Act
That’s the Haha Hatch Act.
