The Palestinian Harvard freshman whose visa was revoked in August after immigration officials interrogated him about his religion and friends’ social media posts was allowed to enter the country on Monday to begin classes on Tuesday.

This story showed up on social media early this morning.

Commenters on social media said he should still be watched closely. I agree. He might one day save the world or any of those MAGAts’ lives. And still people thought that was impossible. Middle easterners apparently can only kill Americans. This is what we’re dealing with, folks. I suspect it’s more widespread than we know.

This is from people who couldn’t find Harvard on a map, let alone be admitted as an freshman.

I wonder how many CBP officers would have problems with their background checks if they included what their friends say on Facebook…considering how many of the CBP officers seem to be just fine with the white supremacy angle on immigration, I suspect more than a few have that kind of trash on their feeds.

And, people like that seem to forget that it’s foreign doctors filling the positions in rural America…their medical care would be sorely degraded if all those doctors left, because American doctors aren’t going to take their places.

That is entirely supported by the administration, so it isn’t remotely significant or disqualifying.

I love it when a plan comes together.

What is the name of the Boston agent?

Names. We want names.

Your Favorite American President is the first president brave enough to reduce “brain drain” and help other countries keep their most talented students. The next step must be to send the best and brightest of American citizens to study in other countries and make sure they can’t come back. /s

"A Customs and Border Patrol spokesperson confirmed to TPM that Ajjawi “overcame all grounds of inadmissibility.”

So … he changed his name, religion, skin tone, and place of birth?

Yes, Nicole Johansen of Bergen arrived eager and ready to start her freshman studies. The necessary change to her dorm assignment took a few hours. But all is well now.

Sacrifices, you know. We all have to make them from time to time. /s

I guess that whole ‘no religious test’ thingy is only for white skinned Americans…anyone ELSE that has the fking NERVE to not bow down to the perverse Christianity the CBP pretends is ‘normal’ risks being thrown out.

The world is devolving into an even stupider place than I ever thought possible. I keep seeing visions from the movie “Idiocracy”, but with an ugliness and meanness attached that Mike Judge never saw coming.

Oh, but the agent deserves privacy. After all, [s]he was just doing the job, no?

We have no indication that that wasn’t the case. Merely a statement from the student that she “yelled” at him, which may or may not be the case, is subjective, and wouldn’t be illegal if she did.

Choosing who can/can’t come in to America is their job, after all.

And certainly the presence of anti-American materials in someone’s social media feeds would be a red flag.

I went through a CBP checkpoint along the I-10 Mexican corridor last month. The agents who looked at us were very handsome, clean cut All-American looking white guys. I would never pick them out of a lineup as white supremacists but I just assumed they were. There might be some good people at CBP, but the behaviors that make the news are painting everyone who works in this mad-administration as racist pigs like Cuccinelli and Trump.

No, the ACLU or some other Civil Liberties organization probably threaten to sue the b*stards.

Recently another CBP bully felt empowered to go off on a big rant at a British journalist about “fake news.” It seems like being an asshole is one of the qualifications for the job.

If the CBP and/or continues to choose to not uphold their standards, that’s really our only option. The rotten apples are spoiling the barrel.
