President Trump’s crusade against ballot drop boxes and other absentee voting practices that make the process easier was dealt a major setback Thursday with a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that permitted policies that will facilitate mail-in voting.
Awesome. Saves me some trouble. Voted this way in the primary and the county set up extra boxes including one just on the other side of town. Easy-peasy. Oh, and fuck you, Trump. We’re gonna blue-wall your ass like the old days, don’t worry.
Be that as it may, the battle is not quite over yet. The case goes back now to federal court before Jagan Ranjan – a Trump appointee, although definitely not the worst of the breed.
So … it’s not close to hopeless, but it’s also not yet settled.
I’m not so sure. I agree that Ranjan could have simply ruled against Trump and chose not to. He asked for a state ruling, which he now has. We’ll see what he does with it.
Did he ask for it? The article implies that the dems filed it in State court, makes sense for him to have waited to see what the court’s rationale would be so he can twist it in a knot and reject it.
If the 2020 election is honest, the 2020 election is over.
If Biden wins Pennsylvania, the chances of him winning the presidency are 99%.
Well it is not over until its over, the election in Pennsylvania with this ruling is more likely to be honest and therefore the ruling makes it more likely Biden will win PA.
I presume that the drop boxes will be located in places where there is already some level of security that can deter mischief. Apart from that, Pennsylvania has online tracking for absentee votes, so you can tell if yours hasn’t arrived or is somehow spoiled.
