PA GOP Queues Up First Post-RBG Election Dispute For SCOTUS | Talking Points Memo

I believe that the prestige of the court means nothing to Kavanaugh. We already know how he’ll rule on any case that resolves partisan claims - for the GOP. Always.

This my friends is the short term goal of moving fast to fill the seat to give legal cover to the GOP election shenanigans ala Bush v Gore in 2000. Killing the ACA and Roe v Wade can come after the rubble of the 2020 Election is cleaned up

If there is one the Roberts is good at it’s voter Suppression… He will be all over this.

Same way everything works. Democrats play by the rules and traditions. Republicans rape those rules and traditions.

Just another Tuesday for Republicans

Yes, consistent corporate and partisan hack. Always

I doubt we’ll see this case framed correctly. Coverage will be obfuscated with details and positions. But this is none of them. It’s a simple request to the Court to affirm voter suppression. Suppression…yes or no. Given the new and improved version of SCOTUS yes is the likely answer. Roberts can’t stop it.

States’ rights, as usual, only count when the state is exercising its right to disenfranchise or otherwise oppress its residents.

In a 6/3 Court he can take the left most seat on the Bench and it won’t change a damn thing. Roberts voting with the Liberals is a 5/4 GOP’er victory.

I know you’re being facetious, but the SCOTUS recusal standard is perfectly clear: a Justice must recuse him or herself whenever he or she feels like it.

OT, but there is some terrifying shit coming out of Pennsylvania. Their fucking state supreme court tucked a provision into a ruling mostly favorable to Democrats ruling that absentee ballots that don’t conform to the requirement that they be put into a “secrecy envelope” that then goes into the envelope addressed to the election board get tossed.

About 5% of absentee voters aren’t doing it. Could be 100k votes tossed.
