“We don’t need no stinking subtlety or nuance!”
Unintentional honesty.
GOP is masterful of saying the quiet things out loud.
We did not send him there to ‘do the right thing
There is no more party. Just bodies able to cast a vote at the direction of the masters above.
“We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing. We sent him there to represent us.”
They realize how damning this is, right? I mean it’s also honest (rare for Republicans!), but it’s straight up “Trump and the Party over truth and your personal wishes”.
They’re fascists, the whole lot.
Rare honesty from a state GOP.
It’s the Pennsylvania Republican party where we wake up every day happy to to the wrong thing.
We did not send him there to do the right thing
The Republican party platform in a nutshell.
That’s definitely not true.
And among many other things, I was giddy with pride for Pennsylvania on November 6, 2020 when the state was finally called for Joe Biden.
Concepts like oath to the Constitution and nation of laws sure can be inconvenient.
“We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing,” a GOP chair in Washington County, Dave Ball, told local CBS affiliate KDKA in an interview Monday. “We sent him there to represent us.”
Republicans: The Party of Doing the Wrong Thing.
Seriously, though, Toomey was elected by Pennsylvania and represents all of Pennsylvania, not just Republicans. So what percentage of Pennsylvanians (and not just PA Republicans) wanted Trump to be convicted? I mean, PA voted for Biden, so the majority of them already wanted Trump out of office, impeachment trial or not.
And Toomey represented them. The PA GOP really has nothing to bitch about.
There’s a bad movie title in there somewhere…these people are a danger to themselves and others…
Pride or relief? Took y’all long enough to get around to it.
Which reminds me— “Do the Right Thing”—can someone clue me in on the title of the movie?
For those worrying we didn’t get enough out of impeaching Trump. - this investment will continue to pay dividends for a while.
All this centuring from Republican party officials of fellow Republicans sounds a lot like the the screaming, wailing and gnashing of teeth from those trying to convince anyone who will listen that the Titanic will not only continue to float but will show up in New York in short order.
Pride or relief?
Both
Took y’all long enough to get around to it.
I’m at work.
p.s. I don’t know if I love you anymore.
Well, be fair. He hasn’t done the right thing very often.
We did not send him there to ‘do the right thing’
The Right Wing party literally says do not do the right thing.
I guess a classic example of so far right it insists on wrong.
He Was Not Elected To ‘Do The Right Thing
I read that, and then I read it again. Wait, what?!
Then I thought, “Holy crap!”
They need to hear themselves, because this ain’t right. Not at all.
