“I want to take personal responsibility for the miscommunication,” he said. “I know that’s not done much these days. But I am responsible. … This is a herculean effort and we are not perfect.”

That’s quite a departure from “I take no responsibility at all.”

No need to apologize.

So what was the miscommunication? There are fewer or there are more available than we stated.
Seems like a strange apology.

Surely we’re not expecting the general to admit that that a certain kitten-heeled orange dictator has his tiny little feet on the brake pedal of OWS… at least until Moderna’s vaccine is ready to ship (and can you guess which company Dear Leader owns stock in?).

They apparently had test data loaded in the tracking system until last week. States started making plans thinking it was the real data, when they swapped out the test data for actual numbers, the real numbers were much smaller.

Never load test data in a live environment…

For gods sake, can anything, anything at all not be FUBAR during this administration. I’m just so sick of it all. And it isn’t over yet. Lord save us.

They may be filling the capacities to ship the quantities they hoped to, from Pfizer to point of injection, at the very low temperatures necessary.

All the snark notwithstanding, this was necessary. The “Head of State” is a crook and NPD-ridden so some adult had to appear at this point…

When you post about Trump, McConnell and the current Republican Party there is no such thing as profanity.

What I’d like to know is when people take personal responsibility for something, what the hell does that mean? Nothing changes, it’s only words and a statement I really think should be banished.

“And now if you excuse me, there is a bus waiting to run me over.”

In all seriousness, I’m not sure what he is specifically apologizing for.

I lecture the developers and data engineers about the perils of test data every time the topic comes up. Been doing it my whole career. Nothing in IT is more predictable than test data going live unless strict procedures are put in place (of different kinds - you want “swiss cheese protection” - you can’t see through a block of swiss because while there are holes in every layer there is another layer beyond where the hole is blocked).

Which someone in logistics should know, right?

ETA but, but if there are doses sitting a warehouse, are those real or just test data?

Trump also speculated with no evidence that the hacks may also have included “a hit on our ridiculous voting machines during the election, which is now obvious that I won big.”

So he wants a medal for admitting he failed at his job? LOL.
